Bus Question

How early does the WDW bus system start operating on a Wednesday? And does it hit EPCOT and Downtown Disney when it first opens?

Park transportation begins approximately 1 hour prior to that park's opening time and all transportation runs until approximately 1 hour after the parks close.

As a piggyback to the original question, I've promised myself that I'm going to hold back at park closing and not rush out with the crowds. How long is it safe to hold back and still catch a bus? There's nothing I find more frustrating at the end of a wonderful day as the whole mad rush to wait in line to stand on a bus, thing. If the busses stop running an hour after park close, does that mean I should probably be standing on line to catch a bus no later than half an hour after the official close? It seems to me that the lines are still horrible at that point.

Disney will not leave you at the park with out a ride. The buses will run until the park is clear.

I do this regularly-love to be one of the last ones out of the park! And yes, I have had that scary feeling of standing at the bus stop feeling like maybe they're all done, because there's no one else there. Then two minutes later a bus pulls up. I've stayed at MK, Epcot, and AK at least an hour after official closing and not had trouble getting a bus that goes specifically to my resort. I've heard that for the real late stragglers, they have a "special" bus-goes to whatever resorts the riders are from. Can anyone else confirm or deny this? I guess I've never stayed that late-YET!
