Bus from Epcot~Beach Club

Nope, but it's only a 5 minute walk from the international gateway to the Beach Club.

Walking or Friendship Boat are your only direct options...unless you want to get creative & do something like Monorail from Epcot to MK & then bus to BC!

No buses run between any Epcot resort and Epcot or DHS. BUT....if there is an issue with the boats, then they will run buses.
About the only reason one would want a bus to Epcot, from these resorts, would be to get to a very early ADR. But, you can enter through the Intl Gateway and walk to the ADR or tour.

One issue is that they stop when there is reports of lightning in the area, which is what happened to me last month when coming back from Hollywood Studios.

True...but it doesn't happen very often. If the boat service is disrupted, it generally doesn't last too long, so buses aren't really needed. It would have to be a substantial storm to stop the boats long enough to run buses.

I've seen them run a bus if the line for the boat is very long, like all the way to the DHS entrance. Usually a cm will direct you.

It was also starting to rain a lot by the time we reached the Yacht Club/Beach Club boat dock, because by the time I walked back to the Boardwalk I was soaked.

Not to be nosy but, is there a particular reason you might need a bus? As the PP's have said the BC is only a 5 min walk through the International Gateway, the BC is the closest resort to Epcot.
Have a Nice Day!!

That was DHS to ECR. I can see that happening, but in my many years, I've never seen it, not saying they've never done it, Epcot to ECR if the boats are down.

Well when we were told all the boats were stopping service I assumed that also meant the boats coming from Epcot to the Epcot Resorts.

Probably when it's raining so hard that adult Guests, especially, will get soaked, Walt Disney World expects them to have or get some type of protection from the rain - an umbrella (NOT in crowds), a poncho or raincoat, or to wait inside a building or under some type of protection like the boat waiting area. Respectfully, they're not our parents.

Theyve done it a few times back in the late 90s. Once was wind issues,it was too windy to safely operate the boats, and I think at somepoint the water levels were too low to safely move the boats thru the water bridges. As a former lead, Ive heard EC call for busses and drivers to run the full 7 stops, but by the time the busses were set up and ready to go,the issue had already passed.

Beach Club is the closest hotel to any Disney park in WDW.You literally just exit at the International Gateway walk up and down the little hill and BAM! you're there!!

ok...I've gone from Epcot to Beach Club in the pouring rain.

The rain cover isn't that great while you are still in Epcot. I came very close to going in the Rose & Crown soaking wet.

However, once you get to the gift shop at International Gateway...you'll have an excellent overhang, plus a good place to buy a poncho or golf umbrella ($42.95).

Just 20 or 30 feet away are benches covered in a large awning. That was wonderful after standing all day and then standing in under the awnings at the gift shop.

From there you can walk another 15 or 20 feet and catch the boat. (My sister, BIL, & kids did that.) Since we were already soaked through, we decided to run for Beach Club.

I would say that its about 150-200 feet from the last awnings at the Epcot entrance to the very first door at Beach Club.

To the OP...I'm really out of shape, quite overweight, but have no other health issues and don't have any trouble walking from Beach Club to Epcot.

There are backup plans to use buses when the monorails or boats go down. Drivers are made aware of them in case they need to do them. They're given names that include a color. For instance, when the Epcot monorail is down, they run the Red Express out of #5, normally the EC to AK bus stop. I'm aware of the MK and Epcot monorail/boats backup plan, the HS to ECR plan, but not a Epcot to ECR backup plan. Could be that there is one, but it's so rare that they don't even bother to tell the drivers about it.

I was there the same time. We sat on the boat from the BW to the YC for a while because of lightning. The boats will run in the rain, but not when you have lightning. One guest was very upset because she wanted to get to Hollywood Studios. The captain explained it was unsafe to pilot the boat in the storm. When the guest asked what other options she had he explained walking was the only other way. The guest got indignant and said it was thundering and ligning out and she was not walking in that because it was dangerous!!!!!! The captain said, exactly miss, that is why we are sitting here until I get the all clear. Safety is Disney's #1 priority. It was kind of funny and several guests on the boat giggled a little.

I am helping an older couple go on their first Disney vacation and was trying to make transportation as easy as possible. They have a 5pm ADR at Cape May and are staying at POP. I had them spending the evening at Epcot but now they want to go all out and spend EMH at MK after dinner. Just wanted an easier way to get them there, not sure how they are gonna respond to walking so much and trying to make things as easy as possible.

Thanks for all the replys:thumbsup2
