Hey! We usually stay in a WDW resort, but on,y here for a day and staying outside the park. My ? Is... Can I park at Downtown Disney and use the Disney busses for transportation? Trying g to avoid parking cost and my hotel doesn't have a late pick up and I want to stay till closing? Any suggestions?? Thanks all!

Seriously? Sure, go ahead if you don't mind using up hours to get someplace in order to save $15 or so. The buses do not run, consistently, early enough to get you to a park for park opening. You would have to go to a resort and to a park from there. Figure at least 90 mins, probably closer to 2 hrs. You might not even get a bus to a resort until well past 9am.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but this is a very controversial topic and its somewhat odd for a first post.

Sure, you CAN park at Downtown Disney for free and use the busses to commute to the parks. But it's highly inconvenient and very time consuming as the busses don't run directly from DTD to the parks; you need to transfer at a resort in each direction. In most people's opinions, the $15 savings from the parking fee is not worth the time involved.

Not to mention with the construction at DTD you will have to park pretty far away from the bus stop. So be aware of that! and factor in what the other poster said it would take 90 to get to the park plus my mentioned parking issue you could easily spend 2 hours trying to get to a park. And then another 2 hours to get back to your car... SO factor in 4 hours to get to/from the park.

Not to mention that the DTD buses don't start running till 9:00 a.m so figure on getting to the park around 11:00 a.m.

Really not worth the hassle to save $15.
