How is the bus service between DTD and resorts? I'll need to go from DTD to WL to be picked up by ME on our last day. Please give me an idea how much time we'd be looking at?

I have always found the bus between the Magic Kingdom Resorts and Downtown Disney takes forever, which is why my family and I always have our own car when going there. For example there have been times when we have waited at 30 minutes or more for the Downtown Disney bus to arrive at the resorts and then at Downtown Disney when going back, so my advice is take a taxi if you don't have your own car.

If time is of the essence, and I sense you are trying to squeeze in as much Disney time as you can, a cab may be your best bet. If you don't want to use the cab, I would plan on leaving DTD no less than an hour before you need to get back to WL. If you need to be back at WL at say, 4pm, for DME pickup, you should be leaving DTD no later than 2:45. You need to back at the DME bus stop 15 mins before the stated pickup time.
The buses from DTD to the resorts are all notoriously slow..figure on a 20-30 min wait for the bus to arrive, then 15-20 mins to get to the MK resorts. Now, Murphy's law being what it is..if you get there, planning on a wait of 25 mins, a bus will come along within 5 mins. But, better safe than sorry.

Anyone have any idea rough estimate of the cost of a cab from DTD to any of the MK resorts? (we'd be heading from dinner at DTD our first night and off to MK, and obviously excited to get to MK and worried about how much time wasted with buses!)

We think we've decided to put in a non-park day in the middle for us to go to DTD. We'll visit the monorail resorts on our last day, so we'll be able to easily get back to WL, have lunch and be picked up.
Thanks for your help!

Incase you didn't know this the Wildenress Lodge has a blue flag boat which goes to the Contemporary so you can start of over there, then you can visit the Polynesian and Grand Floridian. So once your finished you can either take the bus or boat back from the Wilderness Lodge or take the boat back from the Contemporary.
