Burning question about candles

Most firefighters (that I know) will not allow candles in their own homes. They say they are a cause of a majority of home fires.

This is why I have a candle warmer..Dh is a firefighter and will not and has never let me burn a candle in the house..I thought he was a freak at first for it, but we were coming home from dinner one night and a lady on our street come running almost in front of our car screaming and told us her house was on fire so we pulled in her driveway and sure enough right there in the front window on her tv you could see the candle burning up her curtains..She had locked herself out..DH busted the door in and put it out before the FD got there, but it could have been way worse!!!
