Burned by MyPoints - super slow redemption

Has anyone else noticed they've just raised the amount of points needed to redeem as well? I always got the $10 Panera card for 1400 points, but you now need 1500. I'm ready to cash mine in and cancel my account with them. I'd certainly get a lot fewer emails every day!

I only get to cash out once or twice a year myself. It's definitely not a huge money maker but I figure it's worth it to click on a few emails through the week.

I've been with them for a little over 10 years now and have earned 35,184 points in 10 years, LOL. Like some PPs have said, they always get really behind with redemptions during the holidays ~ I would never count on using a MyPoints GC as a Christmas gift unless I cashed out in early Fall.

OP, hope your GC gets there soon!!

I wouldn't count on them even then...I ordered 13 weeks prior and nothing! From now on I will order one at a time all year long and put them away.

I don't know how they get the gift cards, but I feel like they ran out and because revenue is down they can not replenish.

The cards I ordered were $10 Target, then I realized I forgot someone and went back a few days later to order one more. They no longer had $10 target cards, I ended up ordering a $10 Kmart because that was the closest they had - no walmart even. I also got a $25 Sears card. Those cards actually came, and fairly quickly IIRC, but to this day none of the Target ones.

Sometimes it takes me forever and other times it's really quick.

In Dec. they have really good bonus deals. I bought 7 magazine subs from magazines.com, instead of the 250 points, they were 500 EACH. I paid about $36 for 3500 points. Then add in a few surveys and a few emails and I had enough for a gift card.

Other times it takes me over a year to save just clicking on the 5 point emails.

I redeemed points for a $50 Outback card on 11/23/09, which we ended up receiving on January 2nd. A day or two before Christmas I mentioned to my wife that we should have received it by then but then forgot about it until I got it in the mail.

I ordered a $25 Landry's card on January 5th. I'm hoping to get it before we leave for our trip on Feb. 24th. Oh well, if not we'll save it for a future trip.

How do I know the status of my redemption? I don't see "pending" next to it at all...

ETA: Nevermind - figured it out. Hope they get here before my vacation! I knew I should have cashed out in December!!!

I ordered my gift cards in October for a November trip. I didn't really expect them to come in time for the trip, but they did. I ordered on Oct 15th & we left for FL Nov 7th.

However, I also ordered a gift card just after our trip, for Christmas & I got it Jan 5th.

I think it is slow because of the holidays. MYPOINTS has always sent my gift cards in less than a month.

I redeemed for a $25 GC to Walmart on 11-18 and still nothing. My status still shows as redeemed. I emailed baout 2 weeks ago and received the same email as kristin. I just decided to keep it when it comes since we're planning a trip in Oct. I'll use ot for swisuits, cereal etc. BTW, it's never taken me more than maybe 3 weeks to redeem and receive my rewards. I agree, I think they greatly underestimated the demand and were caught with their pants down, to speak.

I just cashed in 15000 points for 7500 United frequent flyer miles. I hope they credit soon as it is just a transfer of miles and nothing is sent and I need to book the plane seat soon. It is so sad to see my points balance so low. I was hoping to save them for a free room at the Hyatt MCO but I needed to add some United miles to get my 3rd free plane ticket for our November trip!

I cashed out last year for (2) $50 Landry's cards, knowing that we would need them for our April trip this year. I knew I would need some Marriott cards too, so I cashed out for a $75 one back in mid-December. I should get it on time since I allowed over 3 months for it to show up. Even my Landry's cards, which I ordered sometime last spring, took nearly the full 6 weeks to show up. But, they do say that it can take up to 6 weeks, so I guess as long as they show up eventually, I can't complain.

I love buying the Lancome skin care from them. The cleansers and toners can get a bit pricey, but if I order through the bonus e-mails, I get 3000 points for a $50 order. My gift cards add up quick.

I've mainly purchased Marriott gift cards for our summer vacations each year. It has usually taken 6-8 weeks!

I ordered a couple Landry's cards last summer but those came in a couple weeks?

I ordered these around April for a June trip.

Just adding my voice to the chorus - I redeemed for a GC in early Dec and it still hasn't even shipped. I hadn't even noticed it had been so long until I opened this thread, but I just redeem for $50 CVS cards any time I have the points so I'm (luckily) in no hurry waiting on the card. Since I discovered Sunshine Rewards (thanks to this board!), I don't really build up enough MyPoints to plan on giving their cards for gifts anyway.

Thank goodness I saw this thread. We are leaving April 3rd and planned to redeem points for Landry. With all these issues, I've ordered them this morning. Now I really hope they make it by the time we leave.

I really do like My points and have to remind myself to buy through it more often... Youneed to watch the DEALS and get points... its worth it in my mind... its "FREE" stuff you cant go worng I dont think... I have a $25 Kolhs Card I am waiting on...

I am still waiting on a gift card that was redeemed the end of November. I did receive 2 out of 3 before the holidays, this one was going to be a gift but I'll just keep it and use it if I ever get it!! I am giving it 10 weeks, then I'm demanding my points back in my account.

Update: Received the gift card yesterday, January 14th. 8 weeks and 1 day. It is a Darden Restaurants card (Longhorn, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze) so at least my family can use it for a night out.

I still waiting on a Red Robin card that I ordered on 12/03, does'nt even show pending. I ordered a home depot card the same day and recieved that one on 12/23. Not really a big deal on this gift card,but I definitely give them 9 weeks for any cards I want to use on vacation.

I ordered a $25 Walmart gift card on 11/19 and it's still showing as pending. I e-mailed them for a second time on 1/8 and asked what was going on. This was the response I got:

"Dear Kristin, Thank you for contacting MyPoints Member Services. We apologize for any inconvenience. Due to the holiday season, MyPoints is experiencing a delay in fulfilling some of our more popular rewards. Unfortunately Member Services is unable to determine exactly when the Fulfillment Team will be able to process your redemption. Your redemption is currently listed as pending. If you wish to no longer wait you can request to cancel the redemption and have the Points put back into your account. Please accept 25 Goodwill Points for your continued patience. Again we are sorry for the delay and appreciate your loyalty to the MyPoints program. Sincerely, Jermina MMyPoints Member Services"

I've also ordered a $50 Walmart gift card since then and it's still showing as pending. I'm also having a lot of problems with Office Depot orders being credited correctly. It's so frustrating!

I don't think I have placed an order with Office Depot that I have not had to contact them about giving me the points. Funny how the points normally show up within a couple of days of your purchase, until you contact them than you get the whole you have to wait 30 days for the points to show up before contacting them. It is so frustrating.

I just checked the status on my Landry gc's on MyPoints and its says "redeemed". Does this mean they are in route? Or am I not looking in the correct area? Let me know...we leave in 10 weeks and I'm a little concerned that they won't come in time.
