Burger at Beaches and Cream: REALLY worth the trip?

OMG! That sounds yummy! A pineapple mojito is definitely something that needs to be in my future!

You must try the Pineapple Mojito! It is amazing. They make real mojitos, with fresh mint, no flavored syrups. The pineapple is not juice, it's chunks of fresh pineapple in the glass, so it's not overwhelming or sticky sweet.

If you are not familiar with the area - You can walk out the International Gateway entrance / exit of Epcot in the World Showcase. Head towards the Dolphin resort, past Yacht & Beach. Once you get to the Dolphin, follow signs or ask to get to the Pool - The Cabana Bar & Grill is next to the Lap Pool. It's a great place for lunch & boat drinks, or even just drinks. We spent at least a couple hours there everyday of our Mother's Day trip. Nothing better than delicious drinks & food in the gorgeous FL sunshine!

Oh & even better than the Waterfall Cheeseburger is the Blackened Grouper sandwich. :cloud9: Heaven!

B&C double cheeseburgers & onion rings are our favorites at WDW! It's a very short walk from the WS entrance to Epcot, and we like it much better than most of what Epcot has to offer right now-so it's a nice place to take a break from that park. The ice cream is very good, too!:goodvibes

Never ate there, but stopped in and took a look around when I was in town for business one time, and I would not go out of my way to eat here. Picture a small, and I mean small, greasy spoon diner. That's the impression I got. If you were staying at BC or YC or BW and needed a last minute place to eat, I would say go for it, but I think it is way over-rated on the DIS.

How would you know that by just walking in and looking around? :confused3

Well, he looked around and asked himself, "Does this place look big or small?" Then he looked at the tables and the comfort level they provided. Then he observed the quality of service the waitresses seemed to be providing.

I've eaten there and I think he's a little harsh, but only a little. I'd compare the food to Steak and Shake, but the service isn't as good and the tables are tiny and a pain to eat on. But it's there, and if you're hungry burgers and ice cream are always welcome.

We ate there during our last visit. We took the boat from MGM and that was kind of neat. We went about 3:00 in the afternoon and the place was dead. Only a couple other tables were filled. We had ice cream sundaes and they were very good but way too much. I dont think anyone in our party actually finished them.

It is a very small place though, so I can see how it can be packed during prime hours.

Did not try any burgers so I cannot help you there.

I dont think it is a every-visit place for us, but we would go back.

This is at the BC resort?

I might walk there for a veggie burger. Is the wait for food and a seat long?

Thanks!

If you go during prime feeding time :) like between 11:00-1:00 for lunch the wait can be long. It is very small, but it's definitely not a greasy spoon joint. We've been a number of times but usually when we are staying at the BCV's or YC. I'm not sure I would go out of my way but I wouldn't go out of my way for any burger.

We have only been there during the summer and boy is it crowded. Every time we tried to get a table, we waited. And if the pool was closed due to lightning, forget it! The place is a mad house. Sure the ice cream is good but I do not think it is a destination place for a burger. There are just too many other places that are better and less crowded/noisey--even frantic at times.:thumbsup2

Unlike other WDW locations the burgers at B&C are generally fresh and not frozen. I don't think it's worth a special trip. Nice lunch and ice cream IF you're staying in an EPCOT resort or happen to be going to/from EPCOT--Disney-MGM Studios and want to grab a bite.

Steak and Shake,,,ummm noo I don't think so.

I wouldn't feed steak and shake burgers to my dog especially at the prices they charge. We've been to B&C, thanks and yea the tables are a pain and we found out first class how rude the service can be, ,,, but we like it and will we go back next trip?...............you bet! :thumbsup2

Fresh burgers are no longer in existence at Beaches & Cream. Thanks to the DDP, they've changed the burgers there to the standard, pre-sized, frozen patties. This is a pretty recent development - what a disappointment for meat eaters - they used to have very good burgers.

Cheers!

Yes, when we went in September they were excellent.

The BEST burgers I have ever had, anywhere.

Also, the Brownie Sundae was amazing too. :) :thumbsup2

Definitely make the trip.

No, not worth a special trip. :sad2:

A few years ago I would have answered yes. But we go every year, and the last 3 years the food quality has gone down and the service has been borderline rude. Well, actually VERY rude to tables around us last trip. Unbelieveable waitress who scolded folks like they were at 50's Prime Time. But not in a joking manner. One party got up and left after barely eating. I hate to say that too, because we really did enjoy it a couple of times in the past.

This had to be the same waitress we had (or at least I hope there is only one of her) ;). It was the most awful restaurant experience I ever had anywhere. She was so rude that she left me with bad feelings about the place. She was so rude, I actually thought it was an act, but quickly found out it was not. I will do take-out only at BC, but not for the burgers or any type of food except icecream.

I had been reading for years how great the burgers were, so ordered lunch instead of icecream. BIG mistake. The hot dog DGS had was not very good, but no big deal. The burger was one of the worst I ever had in my life.

BC was such a disappointment. If only the food was good, I would have just had a terrible experience with a waitress. If only the waitress was nice, I would have had just a bad food experience, but the double whammy was real hard to take, especially at those prices.

I will not let that CM ruin it for us. :goodvibes
We will go back for take-out ice cream and eat outside at an ice cream cone table if we are in the area, but I will never sit at an indoor table at BC again and I will never order anything but icecream.

That said, Main Street Ice Cream Parlor is awesome! Always delicious ice cream and in our experiences there, friendly CMs. I will have to put the ESPN burger and the Waterfall Cheeseburger on my list of burgers to try. :)

When we went in April they were the same fresh, juicy, delicious burgers as always--not the kind you get at the CS locations.

It is very disapointing they used to be so good as my mom says "like grandma used to make"
Not now.

I haven't bothered with B&C Burgers since 2001 & they were generic, frozen WDW patties back then..... :confused3
