Are the rooms with the bunk beds available in all category of rooms at the AKL? I would like to stay there, but am not sure if I can afford the savannah rooms. Does anyone know if they available in the standard or waterview rooms?

I believe so...someone feel free to correct me...
we were staying in a pool view room...and had bunk beds...
and I did read a review that stated the standard rooms have bunk beds as well...

I thought the bunk beds were only in the delux rooms. We had them last month when we stayed at AKL Concierge on the fifth floor - Arusha Savannah.

I too believe they are only in the deluxe rooms

We just returned Sunday from AKL. We have a savannah view room (not a deluxe savannah) and had bunk beds. If bunk beds are your number 1 request, AKL will do their best to get you bunks, regardless of the view. :)

Yes, there are definitely bunk beds available in poolview rooms. We just returned from a mid-July trip and had bunk beds at our children's request. I am pretty sure they are available in standard rooms also due to the fact that our reservation was for standard and at the time it was made the CM asked if I thought the kids would prefer a double bed or bunk beds.

Bunk beds are definitely available in standard and pool view rooms. We had reserved a standard view with bunkbeds but were upgraded to pool view with bunk beds. The bunk beds were a huge hit with my kids. Unfortunately, they want bunk beds on all our vacations now. You will love AKL no matter what category room you have.

Related question: Do the Standard View rooms have a configuration of King bed/daybed, or do all the King rooms have bunk beds?

Deb Wills' site says that there are "Standard Rooms" with King bed and daybed, but I'm not sure if this applies to Standard *View*.

Another question are the bunk beds large enough for a 13 yr old and a 10 yr old child or are they small?

Their "normal" sized twins beds. My almost 6' DS slept in one a few months ago with no problem.

Hi guys this is my second post!

We had bunk beds in our savannah room and I thought they took up the entire room! I probably won't request them again. Adults can't even sit up straight on the bottom bunk. It was a pain when coming to the room after a long day at the park and everyone just flocked to the one big bed. Not only that it created more work for me by keeping my two year old off the ladder. My 6 year old son also hit his head on the celing while on the top bunk. I wouldn't recommend them unless your kids are used to them and mine aren't. That is just my opinion, I am sure others love them.
