Is it considered inappropriate to bump your own thread?

I bump my Christmas Card exchange one so that everyone sees it.... others have been bumping it to move it up as well.

I don't see a problem with bumping if you want people to see it. Unless it is as said "fluff"

I've been shamelessly bumping the thread on booksforsoldiers.com encouraging people to go there, choose a servicemember and send a "care" package! I don't feel bad about it at all. Oh, that reminds me. Better go bump it up again.:teeth:

I don't think so, esp. if you think it will either :

A. help you if you really need a lot of responses such as a question, a request or an exchange

or

B. if you think it will brighten up someone's day

I don't think so. Some days things move so quickly on the DIS CB that interesting threads never get seen because they get buried. A lot of times if it's not on page 1 it can be missed. I personally go back as far as it takes to see all the new threads but not everyone has that kind of time available to them so bumping is sometimes helpful even if it is your own thread.

There is nothing wrong with bumping your own post :)
