Is it OK to bump your own threads?

I just bumped my thread because I am searching for an answer. Looks like I may not get it though. I think its ok to bump--especially when you have adorable kitties in your picture!!!

I would say bumping your own post once is probably more than enough. ;)
 
Only under a few circumstances. Maybe you asked a question that you know could be answered, but you posted it late at night. Bumping once for the late morning crowd would be ok to see if you can get your answer.

Bumping your own thread on a subject you want to talk about, but didn't get as many replies as you liked. Then no. It just means that others weren't interested in it as much.

Just wondering: This week I started a thread which ultimately wound up containing more of my own posts in it than others' posts. Does this constitute bumping my own thread?
