I'm glad you made that point....I've been thinking it. I feel like everyone is now invested in getting my DD and I on this little weekend jaunt.


BTW, I did a mapquest and Detroit airport in 4 hours and 45 minutes from my house. It's much farther that I even thought. Too bad since I looked up Spirit and I could get a flight for $214 including tax for the 2 of us. I actually thought I would do it and then I did the mapquest.

I'm definitely going to keep DTW on the radar for our trip next summer. If I can fly all four of us down for $450 it is worth the drive time.

Anyway, I found a flight on Kayak. $415 for the 2 of us, sold as United but flying US Air. The times are really stinky...midnight arrival in MCO and a 11:30pm arrival on the return to BUF.

Anyone travelled US Air? I never have and have no idea what they are like.

I used to fly USAir all the time. I was able to find the same price for flights on UNITED as well. But like you said the timings weren't the best.

Have you thought about looking at a vacation package through one of the airlines/sites hotwire is showing the ability to book the UNITED flights mentioned plus the hotel stay for a total of $512 USD - TAXES Incl.!!

I don't know if you were looking at staying on property or renting a car or what have you .. but there are always deals to be made.

It's just was not meant to be....I couldn't find a suitable flight at a price that worked for me. Wouldn't you know it though, a flight came up super cheap going on Dec 2...naturally, all the resorts were booked. Anyway, while all that was going on my DH was away and came home with a really beautiful diamond ring for me. So it's a good thing I didn't spend the money on a trip.

Now we are onto March Break planning and our 2 weeks in WDW next summer. Maybe I can some how plan a long weekend to see all the Christmas stuff next year.

He is a sweetie He knew that I have wanted a ring for a long time now and just could never find what I really loved, at a price that I loved. We never really got engaged....we just kind of said lets get married and since we're in Vegas We bought a wedding band and voila.

So he found a ring with a nice size diamond and thought it was a steal. We just had it appraised at 5X what he paid...so it really was a steal. In January I'll take it and have it re-set into what I want. Our 22 anniversary is coming up so this was a really nice surprise....he said that the 20th was too predictable We spent that one in WDW...that was my surprise to him.
