I was really wanting to hear that speech! LOL

But, did anyone hear Robin Williams pick at ME before the announcement of Finding Nemo's win?!? YIKES! LOL

I would have liked to see it win as well. It would have been a nice tribute to Walt.

I liked Billy Crystals comment in his opening number about the meeting between Disney and Ei$ner...

I wanted to see Destino win too. Too bad.

As for Billy Crystal's comment, he sang a quip about it in his songs montage about the best picture nominees. To the tune of "Old Man River" from Oklahoma, he described the film by saying "There's a shooting, there's a beating. It's like a Disney and Eisner meeting".

Williams comment on having nothing left but a Muppet and a waterslide was a little uncomfortable though, at least to me. It seems like he's really bitter at Disney, or at least Eisner at it wasn't appealing.

What made Williams so mad? Did something happen other that the way we all feel?

I think he said "waterslide" becuase 1) it sounds funny and 2) because of the water parks. As for what made him mad at Disney, first there was the whole thing about Aladdin about 10 years or so ago that was fairly drawn out, then things were "mended" and now after all of Robin's films with Disney (Flubber, Bicentenial Man) were poorly marketed and did not do exceedingly well at the box office, I think he's a little bitter again.

I don't think Robin Williams is bitter or mad ... he's a comedian for goodness sake! What's one of the hottest topics in Hollywood these days? The whole Disney thing. Everyone from Jon Stewart to Jay Leno is spewing Disney jokes. Certainly no one expected the Oscars to be immune.



PS. "Flubber" didn't really do badly at the box office. It took in nearly $93 million in the US alone.
