We had a trip planned to Las Vegas for last Saturday but my husband had an emergency appendectomy on Friday. Thank God he's alright and he came home on Monday. I don't care about the money we lost because I'm soooo thankful it did not happen while we were out west.

The problem is that my husband thinks he is Superman and wants to go back to work next week. He's also wants to go out for a drive, although the doctor told him not to do so. He is so hardheaded!!! I have been on the internet looking for airfare to Disney to get away from him!

How do you all deal with your walking wounded in these situations?

First of all, thank goodness your DH is okay!!

As far as how to deal with his stubbornness. . . I can tell you from a male point of view that it's just a guy thing- my advice would be to use reverse psycology; instead of trying to get him to take it easy, push him to get on his feet sooner. . that should ensure that he'll do the opposite. . . ;)

Wow...I am sorry you missed your trip. We loved Vegas.

I cannot give too much advice on your DH...I have never stayed home after surgery...guess I am hard headed too.;) But I have NEVER rushed back to work!

Hope your DH is fine soon.

Sorry to hear about your trip... I know my cousin had that procedure down and she was resting at home for at least a week without any physical activity. He should really take it easy. Good thoughts for him and hope it's a quicky recovery! :)

Good to hear he is doing well. and I would take Willy's advice. And you get away for a weekend also, it will do you well.

In keeping with WillieJ and Dan, pehaps you could suggest some chores for him to do. Dreadful yucky ones like cleaning down spouts, etc. Try to find something messy but not heavy. Perhaps the driveway needs to be painted, and since he's off from work for awhile perhaps he could get started on it... ;) :) ;) :)

You get the idea!

Good to know though that he is fine and was not taken ill in Nevada. Vegas will be there when you are ready to go again.

Take care!

Glad to hear that he is doing okay now. The only way that I can get my DH not to do something that he shouldn't be is to pretend that I don't care. So if my DH needs to relax and he tells me that he wants to go out running, I say "Go ahead" in the nicest way possible and he sure doesn't seem so motivated. I'd also go plan that trip if I were you, sounds like you could use it :)

Glad to hear that he is doing ok. I really don't know what to tell you. Seems like if once they get their mind made up it is like talking to a fence post! Hope you can convince him to take it easy for a while!
