Well I know I shouldn't have just assumed however we are going Nov. 25th- Dec.2nd so when i heard that the new nemo ride was scheduled to open in the fall I figured that would be by the time our trip rolled around. The same with the new Nemo show at AK scheduled for late 2006 but once again I assumed it would be open by the time the Thanksgiving holiday crowds arrived.
So I am bummed to see the dates are set for Dec. 10th and Dec. 30th! :sad2:

Plus I was also dumb enough to tell my DS7 that these new things will be open on our next trip. :rolleyes1

Maybe you will have some soft openings. Your dates are so close (end of Nov.-2nd and the open date of the 10th.), I hope you will have a soft opening and let us know how great it is.

I also assumed that both would be open well before December. Looks like we'll catch one (EPCOT) but not the one I wanted to see most (theater @ AK).

Our dates are exactly the same as yours, and we are from IL, too. Also bummed! :sad2:

I'm a AP holder and the Mickey Monitor said they were opening in Oct & Nov-- where did you hear that they are not opening until Dec 10 & Dec 30.

This might be the official opening. EE wasn't open until April 2006 officially, but they had a soft opening in Jan for DVC & Ap's-- I went in Feb and rode twice!!

I hope it will be open in NOV!!

I assumed the same thing, and told DD8.

Our Epcot day is 12/10, so hopefully it opens as scheduled, but we'll miss the AK show.

I was hoping to see them in November too. Well ... guess that means another trip in my future!!! :sunny:

Here's some pixie dust hoping you get a soft opening during your November visit for your daughter's sake. pixiedust:

LOL ... Quite sometime ago I asked what Disney thought "Fall" was ... Nobody seemed able to give me answer.

We are going Oct 28-Nov 5 so I figured we were right at the tail end of Fall (we sometimes have snow by Halloween so winter is pretty much getting ready to go at that point here).

Now apparently "Fall" has been moved to Dec ... I just hope someone tells old man winter up here too ...

I am disappointed too (another IL family), as DD4 really loves Nemo. Luckliy I had not made specific promises about that yet. We are not AP, so would not be able to take advantage of any opening for passholders. I am hoping for a soft open for the public so we can participate. (Really wanted the AKL show more than Epcot too.)

I always thought Fall ended on December 21.

Same here. We go Dec 2-10 (leaving at 10am the 10th) and I can't change our dates or the flights as I have non-refundable plane tickets. I feel very sad, as those were two attractions I was very excited about. Last time we were there, the whole Living Seas building was closed so we missed Crush. I had heard a much earlier opening date for the Nemo musical and "fall" for the ride so I can't help feeling bad we will miss both. I am hoping for a soft opening. That close to the dates it is possible so keep your fingers crossed...maybe we will all get to see them!

These two Nemo attractions were two reasons I chose the dates we did. Oh, and that it was relatvely uncrowded the first week in December, but since ADR's are filling up already I am not holding out a lot of hope for that either.

Its actually posted on the DIS Boards main page. Go to the main forum page. At the top there's a scroll down of news and info. The dates are posted there.

This really bums us too! Our trip is Dec. 2-8 and we so hoped the new Nemo stuff would be open. My DS2.5 LOVES Nemo! Guess we'll have to hope for a soft opening.

People, people! Don't be bummed! This is a great opportunity to return for a second trip to WDW!

:sad2: I'm so sad too. My 3yo dd is a big Nemo fan. I'm hoping they get it going earlier. I'm so glad I haven't said anything to my dd yet. What is the announced date for the show at AK I haven't heard the date for that. We are leaving Disney on 12/8 so I'll miss it by 2 days.

Yeah, I got the same email back on 8/3. It says mid-october for the Living Seas ride. I suppose Disney could have pushed it back, but they haven't notified the AP or DVC members yet. In any case, I would expect soft-openings well before the official opening.

I agree I thought they would be open around Thanksgiving. I guess we are okay with Nemo at Epcot. I really wanted to see the new show at AK. Our dates are 12/19-12/28. I can hope for a soft opening or a AP preview.

It will probaly be open by late Nov. early Dec. EE opening date was April 20th. We rode it in early February (AP preveiw was in late Jan.) Buzz rehab was scheduled to keep the ride closed till the second week in Feb. We rode it in the first week in Feb. Disney overestimates to prevent dissapointing people if there is an unforseeable delay in construction. :thumbsup2

My thoughts exactly... although my upcoming trip ends on Sept 22... there's still more time this year for another trip!!!
Infact... I already knew that I would need to return for the new Year of a Million Dreams celebration!!! For me, this is just another good excuse to go back.

The newest Epcot® attraction takes you into an enchanting undersea world this October

This is cut and pasted directly from the WDW website on the Backstage Pass page under "What's Happening", dated August 2006. Here is the link (Note:You have to be logged in to the Disney site to view this page)http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/myVacation/newsletter/whatsHappening?id=BackstagePassWHPage. I am not sure which information is correct, but I am hoping the official site is because of our scheduled Oct. trip.
