Bummed about my AKV "Savannah" view

That is too bad! We had a savannah view during our last visit and were graced with animals of all kinds! My children loved it - and their grandfather thought that the children's reaction to seeing the animals outside their door made the whole trip worth it.

Of course, I wasn't happy with my first room assignment, so I requested to be moved to a different view and was happily accommodated.

Personally, I enjoyed the Pembe savanna. But for our December trip, I requested sunset savanna.

There are a big group of rooms at the north end facing the pens that are baing reclassified as standard rooms in 2011 just for this reason. It looks like you were unlucky enough to get one before the reclassificaiton.

If that's the case, the OP should contact Member Satisfaction. We had a standard view room at BLT, perhaps newly designated, I don't know. We paid the points for lake view. However, we received the difference in points back into our account.

We were told in February at Kidani that if you enter the room, they are suppose to charge you for the room change.

Studio $30
One Bedroom $45
Two Bedroom $60
GV $75

We had to get a Manager to wave the fee.

This has always been the policy. However, when we stayed in Jambo two summers ago, and had a horrible, horrible view (the barn, some concrete, and a people pen) we insisted on a different room. We had to stay the first night because there wasn't anything else available, but moved the next morning.
We were told there would be a cleaning charge, but nothing appeared on our bill.

We also moved rooms one other time at the BCV because we had been given a HA room without a tub and had two small children for a 7 night stay, and was told we would be charged but were not.

You should always be prepared just in case, but we've not had the charge ever put on our account.;
