Can somebody help me? I need ideas for a bulletin board for a kindergarten class.Last year we did a clothes line with t-shirts with pictures of the children on them and it said We'll have a T-rrrfic year. I want something new this year but I am coming up blank. Anyone have any ideas?

When DS18 was in first grade they had a paper doll cut out thing that each student colored and then they took a photo from the school photos and put that on for the "face" The kids' name was under each doll. You could take a picture of their face with a digital camera and print it off. It was for Catholic Schools Week so everyone could see who each child was. When the twins were in kindergarten the teacher took a Polaroid photo of each child and used that on the board so the other kids could see who was in the class and I think it was titled "Stars of Kindergarten" or something like that. She sent the pictures home at the end of the school year.

Funny story with the paper dolls--DS was sick the day they colored the dolls so he had to do his on another day. The teacher told him to color himself--so he did--took out a peach colored crayon and colored the doll peach, with a little black dot for his boy parts :lmao::lmao::lmao:. The teacher was pretty upset and I was biting my cheek trying not to laugh my head off when she told me what happened.

I would not have been able to control myself. I would have been laughing my head off :lmao:

I am doing "Kindergarten Stars"--I got these letters with stars all over them-I am going to put stars up on the board with each child's name. On the first day, I will take their pictures and print them and add that to the board.

My other bulletin board is "We all fit together"-I got a big puzzle bulletin board-I will have each child color a piece of the puzzle. I will put their name and picture on it and then put the puzzle together and hang it up in the hallway

How about pictures of their favorite cars (or mode of transportation ) for "The Race to Education Success"

I like this idea too. My only problem is we have to have it up on the first day of school so I won't have pictures of the children yet. I guess I can just use their names and decorate them myself. We don't get to meet parents or students before school starts.. They both come in on the first day of school and the BB have to be done before they come in.

My bulletin board this year has little cut out fish and the words "Look Who I Caught" across the top. I have a couple things I put out when I use this one. One is a little boat with my last name on it with a little cut out me with a fishing pole in the boat. This year I used this store bought thing I bought that's a bear with all the fishing gear on.

My favorite though was the year I cut out little Mickey heads and put "Have a Magical Year!" :earsboy: All the kids at my school know I'm a Disney fanatic and loved it! I teach 4th grade, by the way.:wave2:

I am a preschool teacher and my favorite was one year I did die-cut flowers, let the kids color them, then put their pic in the middle. I made a garden scene and the title was "Friendship is Blooming In Our Class."

I've done "In Shape for Kindergarten" and then I wrote each child's name in a shape on the board. Later I added their pictures too. Then I used that shape for their name tag on their coat hanger, cubby and other items. It really helped them learn their shapes because I used more than just the basic circle, square, rectangle and triangle.

I am going to have my classroom volunteer the first day so we will be having the kids color them as our first activity so she can put the puzzle together and hang it up for us--ill add the pictures the next morning before school. Before the first day though, I am going to put up a puzzle border I found, plus the "We all fit together" poster..I think i may also cut out some puzzle pieces to put up there---then add to it the next day!

Here's 3 ideas of used...

I had a huge train (and eventually had cropped pix of each child in the window) and it said, "All aboard for a fantastic school year."

I had a huge tree with monkeys swinging. "Swinging into Preschool"... or give the monkeys bananas, "Going bananas for a new school year."

I had a huge frog in the middle sitting on a lily pad and small frogs on small lily pads all around the big frog. The child's name on the lily pad... "Look who's hopping in to Kindergarten"

I've done a cowboy/cowgirl theme..."1st Grade Round Up". I had cowboy hats from Oriental as a welcome to school present waiting on their desks- they loved it!

I did a frog them also, with the words "Welcome to our Pad".

I teach in a Catholic school, so for the past few years I stick with the same theme- 1st Grade Angels. The kids love it and always want to be in the "Angel Class"!

I'm a kindergarten teacher and this year I'm going to do a Busy Bees bulletin board. I made a large beehive by layering construction paper, made paper bees with each child's name on it and with room on each bee for a photo that we'll add later on. On our door, I'm putting a sign that says Welcome To Our Hive. I made a honeycomb chart and at the end of each day we'll decide how much honey we made that day (how much of our planned assignments got done that day) and we'll color in the appropriate number of honeycombs. When we line up to leave the class, when they're in perfect order and quiet, I'm going to let them do a group "buzz" before we walk out the door just to remind them that we're the busy bees class!

Take a polorid or digital picture of each child as they come into class, print it off and have THEM put it on the board. Just have everything ready to go so they can just stick it up there.

I love this. I even have lime green Mickey heads I can use.
