'Cause we've hit double digits, baby!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Shane and I were actually up until after midnight last night... around 11:30 or so, I showed him the countdown widget with 100 days and asked, "You know what this means, right?" He said, "Tomorrow is 99 days?"

"That's right, baby! Double digits, woohoo!"

It clearly doesn't take much to make me happy. Once the clock hit midnight, I did the whole, "Double digits, woohoo!" again... Shane just (lovingly) rolled his eyes at me.:p

I didn't even let my hubby know when we hit 99 days... It sounds so far away still considering I will only see him in August for 9 days before that trip. I'm excited it is so close but would be even more excited if I could see my hubby between as it will be 2 full months once I leave CO. Does that make sense??

Yeah for double digits!

I started shouting about it the other day but then remembered the kids didn't know why I was shouting. I quickly said, you know, til fall break. Maya told me that was a Dumb thing to be excited for considering school has not started yet.

Yay double digits!!! :cool1: :dance3: :cheer2: pixiedust: :drive:

I'll be doing the double digit dance in 26 days, I'm so excited! :rotfl2:

It does make sense... I'd feel the same way ;)

And I asked Shane if he was excited for double digits... he said, "When we get to single digits, then we'll talk about being excited."

LOL! My youngest would probably have that same reaction.

WOOHOO on double digits!!!! :dance3: party:

All this countdown talk is making me want to book another trip! Hopefully next year.

Silly men who don't have the appropriate dancing reaction to double digits! Wahoo!!:cool1:

First order of business, I forgot to post a Picture of the Week yesterday... oops!

Now as many of you know, Free Dining was released today to Disney Visa cardholders for select dates in October. Unfortunately, the dates of our trip was not one of those weeks... but my super-awesome friend and Disney TA checked to see what options I had if we moved our trip to the following week. Shane and I originally chose going the 14th through 19th, as our actual anniversary (and my birthday!) fall during those dates. But if we could save money by going the 21st through 26th instead, that'd be fine! Depending on what resort and ADRs were available, of course...

So did we change our plans to get Free Dining???

Nope. We could move our stay to Coronado Springs, but it would save us just about $100. The only rooms available for FD at POR were Royal Rooms... but it would actually COST us about $100! So we're staying with our plans, as is. Savings of $100 isn't too shabby, but I don't think we'd be happy at CS. When Shane and I decided on this trip and decided to "splurge" on a Moderate, POR was the one that captured our interest the most.

Also, by keeping our plans as is I don't have to worry about rescheduling our ADRs and the Segway tour. So we'll just stick with our room PIN and hope since the week we're going is blacked out for FD, maybe it'll be a little less crowded! :thumbsup2

Sounds like you made a good choice! :thumbsup2The new FD promo covers part of our trip this December, but we're renting points our first week, and we have AP's so it won't really help us for our 2nd week. I've been really slow moving in planning anything for this trip for some reason, but I guess I'd better get on it now before all the ADR's are snatched up once FD opens up to everyone later this week.

YAY for double digits, by the way! :hyper:

I totally get it, I'm not sure I would want to stay at CS either. I have heard good things, and the rooms look nice, but we really enjoyed POR!! Good for you!

Coronado Springs is a really nice resort! They've got beautiful grounds, and with the recently updated rooms they feel a bit more classy than the only other mod I've stayed at, the French Quarter. I highly recommend staying there, despite the size of the resort...it really doesn't feel as big as it is, at least, we found that. It's also got a nice, laid back feel to it, and the gift shop was awesome (not that it matters too much )!

That being said, I've never stayed at the Riverside, but we will be venturing over there for a portion of our trip, mainly to check out the Royal Rooms. It would also be cheaper for us to just stay at the CSR the whole time we're there, because we'd be able to get FD for our entire stay (and there wouldn't be the extra cost of a royal room), but I really wanted to check out another resort, since we've stayed at the CSR before.

So, for $100, to me, that's not a huge difference. If you were saving a bit more, I'd say it'd be a harder choice, but if you guys decided on the Riverside for specific reasons, and you won't have to change ADR's and plans because of different dates, I totally think you made the right choice :thumbsup2

Yes, you better get your ADRs soon! :thumbsup2

I've heard good things about CS, too. In fact, right now I can't think of anything negative about that resort I've heard or read. But the look of the place just didn't appeal to me. But POR did... I've always loved the antebellum era.

A lot of people do seem to like CS! If the savings were more substantial, we might have switched. But POR will be our first stay at a Mod, and I'm happy with our choice.

The detail in the Royal Rooms is so cool... I think that's what I like most, the little touches... like the sink's faucet being the Genie's lamp from Aladdin!

The ADRs probably wouldn't have been an issue to change (maybe a different time than what we originally planned) but I'm most happy I don't have to worry about rescheduling the Segway tour.

I've gone ahead and bought a few things for my trip... is it too early to start packing? ;)

I have a Vera Bradley Hipster that I'll use during the day. But I thought I might try using a wristlet for evenings... mainly during the Halloween party and luau.

I found the light pink Mickey tee at Old Navy a few weeks ago. The other two, I took advantage of a free shipping promo from DisneyStore.com (plus I had about $7 left on a Disney gift card that was just nagging me to be spent ;) ). My plan is to wear the Jack/Sally tee at MNSSHP, and the other tees will be for our park days.

At least, that was my original idea. I love to wear Disney tees on the parks. But I thought it would be cute to wear the Mickey/Minnie tee during the day on Thursday, since that's our anniversary (I have another outfit I'm planning on wearing to the luau that night.) Which means I need something to wear to HS on Wednesday, but I may have something I can wear...

(I put waaaay too much thought into this, I know :rollseyes2: )

Oh, and I also bought a new case for my phone, since my ginormous OtterBox one won't fit in the Wristlet:

So that's what I've purchased so far. I do need to get a small camera bag... Shane gave me a new camera for Christmas last year but I don't yet have a bag for it. It'll have to be something "manly", though, since Shane will be the one carrying it!

Have you made any special purchases for your trip?

Love those shirts...I got a Jack and Sally one a few months ago...not the same color, though...
So far I have gotten that t-shirt a Winnie the pooh one, and the girls and DH have gotten a couple of t's as well. I am thinking of getting the girls a very bradley mini hipster as well to carry...the more they carry the less I carry!:thumbsup2

And then I think the only other things we will get will be last minute toiletries and such...we were there in Jan so we don't need much.

I love making those purchases in the months leading up to the trip. It just helps me get more and more excited!

Cute shirts! What pattern is your VB hipster?

I was hoping to find a Sally one for me and a Jack tee for Shane, for us to wear to the Halloween party. But I like the design of the one I bought... I'll figure out something for Shane to wear!

What pattern is your VB hipster?

It's "Watercolor", the same as the wristlet. I love that pattern, it's one of my all-time VB favorites!
