Since I'm going to be MIA for awhile, I thought I'd go ahead and post the next Random WDW Photo of the Week a few days early...

I just realized I never got around to posting a photo last week! Ooops. So this update you'll get 2 photos for the price of 1.


Both photos are from my trip last summer... here's one of my mom and me, taken by my sister from atop the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse:

And on the flip side, here's one I took of my sister and friend as they were coming back down from the SFRT:

Funny story about the Treehouse: My mom does not like heights. AT. ALL. During my family's first-ever trip to WDW (waaay back in 1987), my brother, sister, and I somehow talked Mom into going up the Treehouse. She made it maybe halfway... before firmly planting her feet and refusing to go any further. Of course, there was a line of people coming up behind us. It took a few minutes, but a CM had to come up and lead Mom down the "CM only" area. To this day, she has not stepped foot in the Treehouse!

I think I've only been through the Treehouse twice... And that's plenty for me!

Hmmm, I don't know… it's just a walk-through attraction, so maybe you can take a snack with you!

I have another pic that Heather took from atop the Treehouse… it's of Cinderella's Castle, and it's surprising how high up she was when she took the photo. Maybe I'll post that one next Sunday...

Mike and I walked up into the Treehouse on our visit in February... you really can't beat the view of Cinderella Castle from there, but other than that it was just... eh. I admit I'm not thrilled with heights either, so that might have added to it.

We both agreed it would be a much better attraction if it had a slide for you to go down after all that clibmbing!

I had to chuckle when you said "your poor mother!"… on this same trip, we also somehow talked her into going on BTMR (she doesn't care for roller coasters, either) My brother and I rode in one car, with Mom, Dad, and sister in the car behind us. Bro and I had our hands in the air, "woohoo!"-ing… Mom spent the entire ride yelling at us to put our hands down, hold on, and stop "woohoo!"-ing. I'm sure she had the worst day at MK… it's a wonder she's still speaking to us!

Ooohhhh..I would love to see that pic from up in the Treehouse..sounds pretty cool!

I'll definitely post that one for Sunday's pic!

As promised, here is the pic of the Castle from atop the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse:

We just got home last night after a week's vacation at the beach... had a great time with my husband's family. I'm trying to catch up on everyone's PTRs and TRs before I leave again. On the drive home yesterday, I got the news that my grandmother had passed away earlier that morning. So we'll be driving up to PA in the next day or so for her funeral. If you're the praying kind, send one my way, would you?
