Hello, It is my understanding you have to make an appointment to build a lightsaber . How do you make the appointment? Thanks

On the Disney World site, you can go under enchanting extras under the MyDisneyExperience section of the menu or type Savi’s in the search box. A button or link to make an appointment will be on the Savi’s page. However, they are difficult to get, but a day of waitlist is sometimes available, but I wouldn’t count on it and try to be as flexible as possible with times for best results.

WOW juat checked the prices!!! Seemed this was around $65. A huge increase these days at $199 from when we did this back in 2016. It seems the reservation open up 60 days in advance like dinning.... Is it hard to get a reservation if you book on the first day the reservation opens up?

This isn’t the same experience you had in 2016. These are higher quality(actual prop quality) and comes with an experience. Similar builds in the third party lightsaber market go for $400+ and you don’t get the experience. The only plastic in these, unless you count a polycarbonate blade, is the chassis and the kyber crystal(and the rancor tooth pommel in the elemental nature set). The majority is metal.

good to know.... what is the best strategy to obtain a reservation? Do they open up on the 60 day like dinning?

Yes, and be on there as early as possible. They book up fast. I haven’t been able to do my lightsaber yet, but have learned enough about the process to understand the build quality(a lot of video reviews out there) and my last trip to HS I saw Savi’s backed up to the door as early as 8:30AM. I would aim for first thing in the morning or later in the evening, given that once the park opens, most newer rides get a 50 minute wait within the hour.

FYI, additional early AM and late PM appointments are now available for the week of 4/4-4/10 if anyone’s looking.

We have yet to see Galaxy's Edge, Toy Story land, and Mickey's runaway train.... With that being said do you feel we can get everything done in one day? the only thing in addition to this for us would be to ride Rock n roller Coaster and Tower of Terror.... We would be willing to skip Toy Story Land if it meant we can do everything in Galaxy's Edge, Mickey's run away train, Rock n Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror. Do you think we can fit all that in one day? I know two day would be better and that is a possibility but I prefer to do only day if possible. I am well experienced with planning pre Covid but this is going to be a whole new ball game so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Rise of the Resistance aside, you will have to choose between Toy Story Land(probably Slinky Dog Dash), Mickey and Minnie’s Railway, and Smugglers Run first thing in the morning. The shortest waits for each of these is right at opening. Within a half hour the wait is 50 minutes, and by mid-morning you are looking at 70-90 minute waits. Midweek may be a bit shorter a wait. I would use TouringPlans.com to build a personal touring plan and get a better idea, since fastpasses are not currently an option. With the right plan, you may be able to manage everything in a day, but Rise of the Resistance may or may not be one you get to do, depending on boarding passes.

We can pass completely on Toy Story if possible.... How do you obtain a boarding pass on ride of resistance?

Two chances, one at 7AM and the other at 1PM. It’s listed on the main page of the MyDisneyExperience App. They go fast though.

Is Rise of Resistance the only ride that you need to obtain a boarding pass for any of the parks?

If you want additional souvenir while getting light saber at Savi’s or just spending money. Go get the Batuu Spira. It is a coin as good as a dollar in Disney. Buy it at any of the stores, I think for $100, and use it as your payment for the light saber or any item there. They’ll give you the coin back. That’s a souvenir not everyone is keen to.
good luck and enjoy!

Very important if you want to ride RotR - read the first two posts all the way through, then start on the last page or two of the RotR thread and follow it until your visit. And practice at home!

So we were successful in obtaining a reservation!! Working on touring plan now for HS.... How long should I plan for building the light saber activity itself?
