Is the only place you can do this downtown disney? I wasn't planning on going there at all but I've been racking my brain on what to get my husbands cousins' younger daughter who's a bit of a tomboy but still girly and I think a mix of those kind of parts and a potato body would be great for her! What is the price as well?

It's the only place I've found them. Last year we got a small box of parts and I want to say it was $22ish. The year before we got the big one and it was $50+. I must say that the potatoes themselves are the same as you get at any store and take up a lot of room in your package do you may want to get one of those cheaper somewhere else and fill your box with specialty pieces. Also, I didn't realize that all the accessories only fit into the Disney arms/hands so be sure to get those, had to stock up on those last year.

They were available in DTD, DHS and Toontown. Well obviously the last is no long available and they may have moved them out of DHS. If you do go to DTD, they would be at OUAT. So if you are looking at DTD, park all the way to the right so you really wont have to deal the rest of DTD if you don't want to. Also, I agree. I would just get the actual potato head at home because it does take up so much space and it is the same. There is not markings or anything on it that say WDW to make it special. So I would load up on everything else and save the space and money and get it at home. I hope this helps.

We also just get the pieces and bring a potato head from home for our dd to play with in the room. We have always gotten ours at DTD, but I was also told we could get them in Toontown, which of course is gone. They didn't mention DHS, but we haven't been there in 3 years. I think it is a great gift. We get new pieces each time we go and all my nieces and nephews, no matter their age, can't wait to see what we come home with.

thanks guys, I actually found 2 potato bodies on ebay for ~$5! I guess I'll be heading to DTD on my trip!

I bought a Potato Head at a yard sale the other day for $2 in anticipation of getting the Disney parts this fall. I hate that there isn't a shop at MK anymore because I really wasn't planning on a DTD day, but we will have to now so I can get my Potato Head parts :-)

If I remember right it was $19.95+tax or the box or $44.95 for the big plastic case.
We just got parts (no body) and had a wicked CM who helped us pack it (and didnt care she couldnt close it bless her!)

Man, we found this out the hard way last year. Guess we will be stocking up on arms when we are there this year!

Which parts did you get? I'm wondering if there are any new ones since we last bought some (in 2011).

We just did this for my son's birthday present. We filled the box with parts and bought the body separately for $2.45, you can also buy extra pieces this way. We wound up buying the body and then 2 helmets that didn't fit in the box besides the box of parts. The box was 19.95. Now he is saving his allowance to buy another box of accessories, because I wasn't thinking and all the parts I grabbed were for the same side of his body, don't know how I didn't realize while we were there what I was doing. :rotfl:

I've found the CMs can be very helpful this way. Years ago I was with a friend and her kids and the CM just jumped in and said "Oh no you're not doing it right" and helped her fill the inside of the potato and just jammed parts in the box.

When I got one a couple years later I had some Mary Poppins parts, including the umbrella, which doesn't fit well in the box, and the CM kind of made it work if you know what I mean. But like a dope I didn't get a nose of any sort for my potato!
