I'm not sure if others have a problem with non-build a bear name brands. I hope that helps.

I personally don't have a problem with some but others yes. The one in our mall seems to have a poor quaility to it's clothing, the animals seem ok but I've never adopted any as I can drive a bit futher and get real thing plus hit scrapbook store.

I have 2 BAB, 1 WBF (Wacky Bear Factory), and 1 IDK (I don't know - he was a gift).
The 2 BAB are my sorority chapter mascots. Their names are Dio and Tima. Dio is a 16 in. Read Teddy and Tima is the 15 in. Brown bear.

As sorority girls, they like all the cool clothes - jean skirts, sun dresses, anything cute.

The IDK bear is Walter Hebert (pronounced "A Bear"), Dio's boyfriend.

The WFB bear is Spencer Welsh, Tima's boyfriend.

Well, my boys have frogs, monkeys, a turtle, an original brown bear, a koala, a new black bear................they have a formal outfit, lots of firefighter outfits (my younger son had a firefighter party last year for his bday, which included going to Build A Bear with all his cousins and they all got firefighter outfits.........it was too cute! I wish I could find the pic we took of all of them holding their firefighter animals to post), a tshirt and shorts outfit, a buzz lightyear (it's new), a batman (it's new too).

We just got a coupon for a free bear because he had that party last year, and he made his black buzz lightyear bear, and my older DS bought a Batman outfit for his frog.........wouldn't fit the frog, so he put it on his turtle instead.

Am I right that these don't have to be new?

They might be willing to trade any of their older animals or outfits.........the black bear, buzz lightyear and batman outfits, they probably won't part with.

Since they have two frogs and two monkeys, they might want to trade them for a surprise animal.

I'll ask older DS when he gets home from school. It sounds like fun!

Right now I have two animals from Build-A-Bear: 1 small bear (Curly, I think) and 1 dog. The B-A-B outfits fit the Disney Bears perfect. I have a white, turquoise blue and brown Disney Bears. The white one is dressed as Tinkerbell, the brown one is dressed as a pirate (went the MNSSHP in 2004 with us-even got a wrist band) and the blue one has a Downtown Disney T-Shirt and shorts on.

Since the blue one is a bright turquoise, it took me a long time to pick something out for it that was Disney. All the costumes would have clashed big time. Even though the pirate costume is not actually Disney, it still goes with the Disney type theme. I would love to get another white Disneybear, but they don't carry them anymore.

Most of the time it's better to send things new, that is why we have the $15 minimum. We usually don't trade animals, usually we send an animal to someone who needs one. That doesn't mean you'd get an animal in return, you might get an outfit instead. Hopefully this makes sense.

Oh, I see, well, my boys don't want to give up any, anyway! Since we just did a trip to the Build A Bear store last weekend (and boy, was it busy!), I think we'll skip this one.
