Build a Bear at Downtown Disney

My children received some Build a Bear gift cards from their grandparents. We have one here, but will be in Disneyland in a couple of weeks. Is there anything special about the DTD Build a Bear that we should save the gift cards for? Like a build-your-own Disney character, or Disney outfits?

Yes, Disneyland Build a Bear has buzz, snow white, tink, and a bunch of other disney outfits. They also have mickey mouse ear hats and other disney themed stuff.

We have a BAB here, but my kids really look forward to the one at Disney. They have each made 2 animals. My dd made an Ariel kitty, and a bear in regular clothes. My son made a Buzz bear and a Woody Dog. They dont ask to go to the one near us, and yes they know its there. LOL But, they talk about what they'll make next time we go to DL.

They have a bigger selection of Disney clothes for bears then the regular mall stores have.

Its ALOT bigger than the regular versions also, its two stories, and they do have park-exclusive outfits.
I don't see how people carry the boxes around the park all day. (my mind is boggled on that point!!!)

The Disney costumes you can get at most BAB stores, and online. My dd has a Tinkerbell costume for one of her buddies, and my ds has one dressed as Spiderman and one dressed as Buzz Lightyear. He would really like a Woody friend, also, but we would need to get another friend, as there's no way he's giving up Spiderman or Buzz.

However, DTD BAB has exclusive outfits, such as Mickey Ears for your buddy. You can also get Minnie Mouse outfit, including ears, gloves, etc. It's very cute, and definitely worth it. You can't get them anywhere else. The store is big, and two stories. Although each floor has exactly the same stuff, and they only open the upper story during the busier times.

Is there anything special about the DTD Build a Bear that we should save the gift cards for?

Not all Build-a-Bears have them (our local one doesn't), but the DTD Build-a-Bear store has these dolls:

Our five-year old DD is not really into bears, but she loved these dolls. She created one to look like her favorite children's TV show character, "Kimee" from "Hi-5."

The dolls are very cute!

do they have anything with stitch? i'll be going in october for my one year wedding anniversary and i LOVE stitch, so just wondering..

We were just there last weekend... I didn't see any actual Disney Characters... just outfits.

Also...it appeared they were using the second floor for Birthday Parties.
