Hi Guys

We are on the final countdown to our 1st WDW trip with a little one !

I have a million and one questions on travelling with a toddler, but for now...

Can you let me know how we should package our buggy for the trip !

ps - we are flying with Virgin if it makes any difference.

Thanks

I'm guessing you will need your buggy at the airport? If that's the case they will take it off you when you board.

If you don't need it you can hand it in with your baggage where it will be tagged and loaded.

If the process is still the same you collect it at MCO next to where the conveyor belt comes out into the hall but someone else might want to confirm that as I know these things change. You don't want to be like us standing around waiting for the buggy and it was sat there waiting for us!! Didn't we feel annoyed:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Hi, you don't need to package it at all, they will take it off you at the gate just as you are about to board, then you just collect it with your baggage the other end, it usually gets put with the oversize baggage so look out for that area near to the carousels.

The only thing that you might like to do it make sure that the clip that holds it closed is good enough or tie it with an additional shoe lace or something just to make sure that it doesn't come open while the handlers are moving it. we had to so that with ours.

Hope that helps!

We put ours in something like this, ours has wheels so you can drag it around but I can't find it on the net with a quick search. We liked it cause it keeps our stroller from getting dirty etc.

but you can just take it up when you board and collect in the baggage hall when you arrive. They will normally be put to the side so look there first before waiting for it to come off the belt.

We put ours into a buggy bag as we were boarding the plane and found that way that it came back clean and undamaged but as others have said there is no real need as virgin are quite good with the buggies. if you are in PE they put the buggy on board with you so you carry it off the plane yourself and have it instantly for in MCO this was a wicked little extra for us as my ds was prone to doing a runner :cool1:

When did you do this? We are travelling PE next year with out 15month old and this would be ideal! I was dreading trying navigate through immigration at MCO & LGW with a tired baby.

We travelled in Pe 4 years go and they took the buggy in its bag to one of the cupboards onboard and we were handd it back at the end of the flight. I presume that this was standard practice for Pe customers as the family we sat next to also got theirs put in the cabin. Check with virgin if they still do it but they definatly did on the day we travelled for the familys that we spoke to !! hope that helps

Thanks for the replys.

The buggy bag is excellent - just about to order one now.

we must have been lucky we have flown FC and also TCD before and were able ,like others say to keep it with us till we boarded then the other end each time we were called and the buggy handed to us. it might have been because i had written our family name all over them!!
One year we took 2 one for son who was 4 at the time and one for daughter who was then 8 months, the airport staff were so kind and helped get all our cases ,unfolded our buggy for my daughter and stacked the other one with our cases on the trolley,so so helpful.
I am now looking forward to our trip next October as it will be our first one with NO BUGGIES WHAT SO EVER. Children will them be almost 11 and 7.:cool1:

We take a large pushchair each time, we keep it with us until boarding but at checkin ask for a bag (they have special clear ones for pushchairs and car seats)and put it in there at the gate.(This was with virgin)

Not 100% sure about the baggage policys but it does say about cabin baggage being within a certain dimension that a pushchair wouldnt fit into. You might want to plan on giving the pushchair up at the boarding gate and it being a bonus if they let you bring it onboard :)
