Bug spray or wipes

I need to purchase some bug spray, I was thinking about the wipes instead of buying the can. Anyone have any experience with the wipes and how well do they work? Someone suggested I get the fan, I thought about it but I don't think my children would like to carry the fan around with them when they are out. Any thoughts. Thank you for any replies.

I htought I'd like the wipes but I'm someone who gets eaten alive. So not being able to spray my hair and clothes when I used the wipes, I got bit a ton. They are convenient, though. I tried the clip on fan thing last year with the kids. Worked well and I liked not having to put the chemicals on their skin. Pricey and don't last too awful long.

I buy wipes for on the go like while at disney or on vacation etc. If I'm home or I'm going camping or picnic I use a spray bottle.
