Summer is in full swing and so are the bugs. If you've bought insect repellent, do you like the one you purchased? We're going camping and I'm looking for repellent that's kid and adult friendly with low oder. No oder would be great too if it exists. I look forward to reading your replies. Thanks all!

We use Repel, which we have found to be VERY effective (I actually witnessed a mosquito fly up to my arm and then fly off; normally I am a mosquito magnet). It claims to have a pleasant odor, but we beg to differ.

However, the effectiveness, coupled with the lack of DEET and other chemicals, makes it worth it to us to put up with the temporary odor. It goes away soon after it's applied.

Oh I had a great one until I read " no odor".....

A nurses aide at Mom's nursing home is from Central America. She swears by Vicks VapoRub.

has anyone tried those new clip on ones that you buy the refills for?

Yes. It was recommended by my daughter's pediatrician a few years ago, she was extremely allergic to insect bites and would get horrible infections from them. I didn't mind putting it on her skin because it was natural and even has an SPF in it. We live on the Coast near the water and I've recommended it to a lot of people and everyone seems to like it.

For really buggy days I'll put the lotion on first then use the spray on the clothing and even the hair.

Oh, and Amber Romance lotion and body spray from Victoria's Secret also keeps the mosquitoes and gnats away. This was recommended at a Church retreat by the pastor;). Not one of VS's better smells, but it did keep the bugs off.

I have this lotion and love the smell! Now I have another reason to wear it! :)

I like Burt's Bees bug spray. It's all natural and it smells great.
