While checking the yard I nearly stepped on this. After my initial shock, I realized that this beetle type bug was just a shell of its former self..... literally. :teeth:

I took it in to measure it and let the cats have a look too. Big creepy bug!!! :scared1:

OK, that's it. You may now return to your regularly scheduled threads. :cheer2:

Love the picture of your cats checking out the bug :rotfl:

And only a DISer would actually bring a bug in to measure it and take a picture :rotfl2:

Hey cool! We get those way up here in Minnesota. We call 'em June Bugs. Years ago, when I was a wee tadpole I kept one as a pet all summer long! :sunny:

Yuck! I do not like bugs.

I purchased a few electric plug in things, I think black & decker makes it, it sends out some really high pitched frequency that kills bugs. I love it, we've had a lot less critters comes in thanks to it.

I have those too and they seem to work great. I refuse to have the house sprayed because of the cats. I've only seen 3 or 4 roaches so far this year which I consider acceptable. I think I saw more bugs in the house when I lived in Massachusetts. :teeth:

Actually, that critter looked kind of small. I know I've seen some around here that looked at least 2-3 inches long. I've also seen water bugs/roaches larger than that. You know it's bad when your hear a thud, and look down to see one of these big bugs crawling off.

New pet? :teeth::p

Jumping spiders are harmless, beneficial creatures. The larger species, such as P. regius, are capable of delivering a painful bite, but will do so only if held tightly. The bite itself causes a sharp stinging sensation which subsides in a few minutes and requires no treatment. These spiders are easily tamed and can be induced to jump back and forth from hand to hand.
