I'm wanting to try Tusker House, Crystal Palace, and Boma on our upcoming trip. I've heard about how great Boma is for vegans, but what about Tusker House and Crystal Palace? Is there a big enough selection to get my money's worth?

Also, if choosing between Tusker House and Yak and Yeti for TS at AK, which would be best for a vegan?

I get to make my ADRs tomorrow, so I'm really having to make some decisions tonight! :scared:

We just did all 3 last week with a vegetarian in our group. She was very happy with both Boma and Tusker House and did "okay" at Crystal Palace although the selection there was not as varied as the other two.

I would definitely choose Tusker House over Yak/Yeti. We've eaten at Yak/Yeti twice and IMO it's just mediocre chinese fare. I had some vegetable lo mein dish there my last time and it was inedible. My adult son and his fiance both said it was the worst pho they have ever had.

Thank you :) I'm glad to hear Tusker House is good with veg options, because I'm really wanting to try it.

With Crystal Palace, did she just not find anything she liked, or were there really not many options? I'm not picky at all. As long as it's vegan, I'll eat it! haha. If I can at least have enough options to fill up a plate with food, I think that along with the character interaction would be worth the price.

I liked the pho. (Of course I am sure it isn't vegan though)

No, I'm sure it's not. I would think the vegetable lo mein would be, though.

It's so odd that there aren't more vegan options in Animal Kingdom. You'd think there would be. :confused3

I think Tusker House is probably one of the best alternatives for vegans in WDW. The last time I was there, the chef was walking some people through what they could eat and i could hear him being very thorough. There sounded like there were a ton of choices. CP i would think is more limited.

Boma (many vegan options) will be perfect for you & you'll have LOTS of choices at Tusker House: hummus, tandoori tofu, tabbouleh, curried rice, many veggie dishes, lots of salads, and fruit. As for Crystal Palace, you may want to look at their menu & decide for yourself http://allears.net/menu/menu_cpd.htm . I felt like they had enough salads to fill me.

Awesome. That sounds great! We have our ADRs for lunch at Tusker House on Sunday, May 10. I'm definitely looking forward to it. I'll bring back pictures and reviews! And thanks for letting me know about CP. We're going to give it a try. I think what they have listed on the AllEars menu will be enough for us. I'm sure it'll be fine :)
