So I'm starting to plan my DFTW, we're looking at a date in October of 2013...so almost time to hear if we get our date!! :goodvibes We're planning on having our reception at ADH, but I just have one question about the food. I know if you have your reception there you have to have a buffet, but does this also include "stations." Looking at the pre-made menus that our wedding consultant provided some list buffets and some list stations.

I'm not exactly sure what the different is, but when talking to the wedding consultant I mentioned we may want stations and she responded by asking "if I knew that ADH was buffet only?" I said "yes", and she said "ok, so you mean some action stations then?" At the time I said "sure", because I just thought they were all the same, but now I'm just confused.

Has anybody dealt with this at ADH before, or in general might know what / if there is a different between buffet, stations, and action stations?? Any hep at all is appreciated, I'm just starting the planning process so it gets overwhelming fast haha

Our reception is at Atlantic Dance Hall...we're also having a buffet with action stations.

I'm also not entirely sure what the difference between a buffet and stations would be, but I do know that action stations within the buffet are definitely allowed (if not, we're in for a surprise next month).

Great! Thanks so much! At least if I know action stations are available then that makes me happy!! And I hope your wedding / reception is wonderful!!

We had our reception at ADH in June and we had a buffet table and two action stations. So it should work out just fine.

Action stations are enhancements to the traditional buffet line. With a buffet, food is kept in warmers and guests walk down the line to serve themselves. Action stations are manned by cast members who either serve food that's already cooked (like at a carving station) or cook food to order (like at a build-your-own omelette station).
