Buffet- To Go Boxes

I have never taken a bag, BUT, I *have* walked out of Breakfast buffets with *a* piece of fruit. That's probably technically wrong.

I watched a 'big-boned' family at the table next to us do this at TH on our last trip. Except they were filling 2 BACKPACKS with anything they could get there hands on. Worst part is the kids were no more than 8-10 years old and they were being told to go get more food to load into the bags.
I'm sure there are "small-boned" people that do this as well. Really? Does it matter that much what size the family was that you felt the need to point it out? Wrong is wrong- no matter the person's size.

Thank you P.C. policeman. I edited
No need to edit your post. You expressed your thoughts and I expressed mine. I am certainly not a P.C. policeman as you put it. It's nothing to do with that. OP posted about whether it's ok or not to take food to go. Your reply comes across as implying that the family did it just because they are big boned.

I re-read my post after editing. It, admittedly, communicates my point better now. I would like to offer a genuine thank you.

The mom and dad just struck me as being particularly rude (which I didn't mention my post). They were nasty to servers that brought drinks, nasty to the server at the meat carving station, etc.
I suppose the image of what was happening that day in TH was clouding my better judgement here today. If for no other reason the fact that young children were made to be participants in something that they probably did not know was wrong.

All good.
And a nasty or rude guest is never a good thing. Talk about a way to ruin their dining neighbor's experience.

I just did. And I read your follow up post as well. You state what you witnessed that day may have clouded your post today. What led to your rude name calling today?
Incorrect. Completely incorrect. Once again: "I suppose the image of what was happening that day was clouding my better judgement here"

"here". Meaning here on the Dis.....today. And there was no name calling at all on my part here today. So there is no need to try to sensationalize my comment. Whether I said big-boned, petite, tall, short, it doesn't matter. That is not name calling. My wife, for example is petite. Neither her nor I consider it name calling when someone describes her as being petite. I am 6'3" and 235 lbs. You can feel free to describe me as being big-boned without the risk of it being perceived as name calling.

I do carry ziplock of varying sizes in my park bag, but that's for non-aycte places. We are 2 adults and even when we get 1 QS or a kids meal, we still may not finish so we baggy it up to take with us if we know it will stay good. But to do that at a buffet is just so wrong and embarrassing.

We eat at TH often and our servers have always given us a cup of coffee in a to-go cup at the end of our meal (DS is typically done at that point and we don't want to linger at the table with just a cup of coffee). They've always been very happy to do so. I, too, wouldn't take more than one cookie or muffin, etc. to-go as a dessert. A buffet is for one meal only and I feel you should only be entitled to what you can consume in that one meal.

Um, at Trails End brunch last month, our server asked if I wanted a "to-go" cup for the rest of my Bloody Mary. Is it wrong that I started shaking my head yes right away with a huge smile on my face? :drinking1

Uh oh, then I've been a bad, bad girl. When we have taken our little guys to a character breakfast we always bring a ziplock bag. Especially when toddlers, they were always too excited by the characters to actually eat much breakfast. We would pack up the muffins, fruit and sometimes even a piece of bacon or two from their plates for them to eat later. Cause sure as the sun rises in the east, 20 minutes after leaving a character meal they are going to be hungry again.

I've never taken muffins or bacon, but I have grabbed a banana or apple on the way out for this very reason. Of course, that doesn't need a zip lock bag or napkin....just throw it in the bag and give it to the kids later when they start complaining of hunger.
