Buffet Prices INCREASED AGAIN!!

I didn't read every response to this post, so i may have missed it, but which DP includes the appetizer and the dessert ? I know it used to be that way, but we used the dining plan 2 years ago and they had changed it to include only dessert, no appetizer, which is why we stopped buying it. We don't always want dessert, we would eat the appetizer more than the dessert.....

The Deluxe

Well yeah and gas was only 1.00 a gallon too.....
When i can get $150 worth of food for $70 a day. I consider it a bargain.

Its only a deal if you like to eat that much. I would feel like all I was doing was eating, if I took advantage of 3 full meals plus 2 snacks per day.

 I don't think I could eat that much on my best day.

For this trip, we are doing cheap, TS meals and splitting meals and the rest CS. I agree the prices are getting ridiculous, especially since the food quality had gone down also.

Just wanted to say that on our Family Extravaganza trip in Sept, we used the regular DDP and ate at California Grill, Rose n Crown, Boma, Ohana. I paid OOP for Hoop Dee Doo. Ohana was wonderful -- we had to wait about 1/2 an hour, but the meats were succulent -- best 'Ohana meal I've had. It was our last meal of the trip, and the meaning of 'Ohana was there for us.

In Christmas we are staying off site (too many points used for the Extravaganza) and so far all I have booked is the Candlelight Processional. Probably will book Trail's End on 12/30 for an MK break. Catch us at Sweet Tomatoes, and maybe Chevy's, Cici's if the teens crave cheap pizza!:thumbsup2

Cici's!!! I remember when their buffet went from $2.99 to $3.49.. it felt like we were being scammed!

I know that the prices are sky-high and the food, quite honestly, sometimes isn't all that great IMHO, but the WDW restaurants bend over backwards so that my daughter with life-threatening food allergies can eat safely. This is worth the extra cost to me and my family.

She doesn't get to eat out much at home, so I'm deeply appreciative to the WDW restaurants for going the extra mile to accommodate people with food allergies. I'll gladly pay what they charge because of this. I know that most people aren't in this situation, but I thought I'd mention this because it's a huge factor for folks like us (with severe FA).

Personally, I'd rather walk to the Crossroads and eat versus pay $37 for a meal at Ohana.

...but it's such mediocre food that makes me mad. There is absolutely no reason in the world Disney could not serve better quality, better prepared food.
Disney use to be focused on quality but it didn't fill the restaurants like their current affordability programs (dining plans-free dining). The heavy use of Free Dining this year makes me wonder how their going to back away from this marketing campaign. Some believe the rack room rates cover the cost, but I do not believe this to be accurate. Excessive price increases indicate an issue in their operations. TS restaurant prices will continue to rise, plan offerings scaled down-streamlined-standardized, lower cost-quality food vendors selected, and menus downgraded as long as people buy the dining plans and OOP guest accept less for more with little regard to what use to be offered and what is now be providing. I do not see an end to the affordability focus and perceive it will shape dining at Disney for many years...

this thread has continued to debate Disney policies and is now closed
