I was trying to explain to a friend how hard it would be for me to limit my sampling and portion sizes if I were on a cruise ship eating from the buffet all week. I wish I could be like her and just eat till I'm satisfied. No more no less. Has anyone experienced this?

On cruises they will feed you until you die. I mean it. I ate until I was miserable. That was before I started eliminating flour and sugar from my diet. I have a cruise in August, I suppose I will find out if I've changed my ways at all. I do alright with buffets that aren't on cruise ships. Hopefully, being at sea won't change that, I would hate to break my "record" of no sugar or flour since January, 2003.

I went on a cruise AND i found that my motivation to stop eating when I was full was the fact that the next day I was going to have to pop on my bikini and lay out in the sun in front of lots of other people! Also you time constraints on your meals. Go when you know you have to be somwhere else in the not too distant future, this prevents you from hanging around at the buffet for a long time! Also most cruiselines allow you to dine at buffets or sit downs. Try and opt for the sit downs to avoid the buffets. And then keep in mind its vacation and you can diet whenever you want, but vacation is not the time to be super strict!
