Buffet Lines

The buffet lines really depend on the time of your ADR. If you go during the peak eating times, they will obviously be longer than other hours. I'd recommend going to an early lunch around 11:30 and early dinner around 4:30to avoid the lines. Breakfast can be tricky, but 7-8 are the best.

We always go to WDW during the busiest time of the year because I am a teacher. The above strategy has never failed us. When we did, in fact, go to a buffet during a normal dinner time (think 5-5:30) the lines were much longer.

Buffets we've gone to include the big ones like Chef Mickey's (B), Boma, & Crystal Palace (B, L, D).

We have Cape May for Breakfast this year. I hope it runs smooth for us! LOL!

It only seems to be a problem at dinner.

OP - we tend to do buffets more for breakfast then dinner. I notice that the carving stations, omlet stations, and any station where something is custom made (or sliced) for you tend to have lines. The line at Tusker House lunch for the carving station was really long. Other than those stations we have rarely had to wait at all.

That being said, buffets are not my fav with young children. I will not go to a buffet again with just myself and a four year old. Too much work trying to get two sets of plates, watch for the characters, and get to actually eat inbetween. With a young child I LOVE the family style meals. They work much better for me

We did 4 buffets:
Cape May (dinner), 1900 Park Fare (dinner), Biergarden (dinner) and Tusker House (breakfast).

All the dinners were roughly the same time. The only problem we had was at ... you guessed it: Cape May. That one was horrible. Even though we stay at BC, we won't be going there again.

All the others were great. Maybe a slight wait at a carving station here or there, or when they were bringing out a new tray, but nothing you'd even notice.
