Eldest DD (10) and MIL have become addicted to the Golden Coral chain (which are very very good) . We do drag them away for the odd character breakfast / meal but are looking to try some others. MIL particularly likes the buffet style .............. anyone have any favourites to share.

We've tried many Ponderosa's (our previous favourite before "discovering" Golden Coral), Black Angus (near maingate on 192 - very disappointing) and Denny's (DH particularly liked this one).

We've heard Sizzler is disappointing these days.

What are your recommendations?

Thank you

My particular fave (apart from Golden Coral) is the IHOP. 16oz t bone, 3 eggs and 3 pancakes. Now THAT'S a breakfast!

Heard good reports about Bob Evans', haven't been there ourselves, yet.

We all loved Golden Coral too! The evening buffet was the best, as we all liked different things and none of us were disappointed. The kids loved getting up all the time for the pizza, and their desserts were nice too. Much better than Ponderosa. & If it is your birthday all the staff (including the ones from the kitchens) come out to sing happy birthday around your table. Not that any of us had a birthday whilst we were out there, but nice to watch.

Have you tried Cracker Barrel? They have a new(ish) place on 192. It's part 'country store' part restaurant. They don't do a buffet but their breakfast are excellent quality and very good value. This will give an idea of the sort of stuff they offer. You don't have to have the grits!

Everything seems to be cooked fresh to order. We loved it.

Another vote for IHOP from me. :)

I've found Sizzler to be a bit hit and miss, however, we've always had a good buffet breakfast at there outlet near Crossroads.

Have never tried Ponderosa as I've heard some dire reports but am a fan of Golden Corral.

It doesn't have a buffet, but we all love Perkins for the great food and service.

I didn't think much of Ponderosa's breakfasts but I've heard glowing reports from Golden Corral - we're aiming to try that when we go. I love Denny's and Ihop for breakfast though, even though they're not buffets.

Another vote for Perkins from me - they really seem to go the extra mile.

Buffets are OK but a little restrictive. Seems an odd thing to say, but that's my view. Buffets aren't the cheapest option either. We all liked GC, but we prefered IHOP and Bob Evans. Better food, better selection, better service and better prices. On the other hand the kids enjoyed having ice cream for breakfast at the GC ! Well it's a holiday for them too.

Sweet Tomatoes at the top of International Drive is lovely and great value. It has a massive salad bar along with homemade soups, pizzas, pastas and dessert bar.

Initially DH wasn't keen as he doesn't particularly like anything healthy but he loved it and we all had a great meal there for only $6.99. (That's each, not all together :teeth: )
