Our son will be almost two when we travel in November. He is not allowed on the dining plan so we will just pay for a kids meal for him at our table service meals. I'm wondering will we have to pay for him at a buffet? We have a character breakfast at Crystal Palace one morning. I hate to pay the price for him when even though he eats very well, there is no way he would eat enough to warrant the price. Can we just feed him off of our plates. We also are going to Ohana's buffet one night.

He can eat off your plate. We did this in Feb for my grandson and we will be back in Nov (still under 3) It was no problem.

I do believe that under 3 yrs of age they eat off your plate for free, even at buffets and family style all you can eat places.

This is correct. Our oldest daughter will be 27 months old when we go in 9 days and we were told when we made our reservations, that she could eat off our plates for free at the buffet and family style places since she is under 3.

With buffets, they can get their own plate of food, as well as beverage free of charge.

Have done this many times, most recently last month, as baby turned 3 halfway through trip, but was counted as 3 for the entire trip. He, as well as DD, have always had their own plates, as they are good eaters!

Tiger :)

1) At buffets, he can get his own plate.
2) Eating-from-adult-plate at a buffet deosn't make sense.
3) They do know how many times the adult goes up.
4) Thus, he's allowed his own plate.

Live 5 miles Northeast of York, PA near Mt Wolf and Manchester.

ok....i would call that central or eastern...or northern maryland

but you are technically right in the "southern" end.

personally...if you don't live in the fan zone of the two prominent teams in Pa (i'll give you a hint: they both wear black and gold...and aren't on a baseball field)...then you should be annexed to new jersey or maryland....

But that's just my take - we can all be friends!!!

The wife is a "Stillers" fan, sorry to say. I really don't root for any NFL team but kind of like the Jaguars and Ravens. Love the Penguins if that is the other team you are talking about.

okay...then we definitely can be friends

If you're interested...look at the Pittsburgh post gazette two days ago and read the article by Ron cook....he is a miserable shell of negativity who's topic of the day was basically "paterno should go because i think he's gonna have a stroke on the sideline during the second quarter"

what a classic....

anyway...enjoy the trip to WDW

if i have to recommend buffets....i would definitely go Cape May, Crystal Palace, and 1900 Parkfare

But if you DO live in the fan zone of the two prominent teams in Pa (i'll give you a hint: they both wear black and gold...and aren't on a baseball field)...then you are annexed to either Kentucky or Ohio.

Friendsies. :grouphug:

All buffets, your son gets his own plate of food and its free. Even if you ate at CRT he will get his own plate of food and you will not be charged.

you're poor choice in hockey teams compliments a hidden skill in geography...pennsylvania's borders are 200 miles from the nearest point in kentucky....but i'm sure you were aware of that.

I got a riddle for you: What's Green, White, and Black and has never won anything?

If you like that one...i got another: What do you call yourself if you have a trophy, skate, have two of the 3 best players on earth, and your best 4 players are ages 22, 23, 24, and 25?

I would *totally* feed him off of our plate. There's absolutely no way I'd pay Disney prices to feed him (even off of the child's menu) at his age. You'll get so much food at each meal that you could absolutely share a meal with him and still have food left over.

Please consider NOT buying him a meal to start out with and see how it works sharing. I have no doubt you'll be able to do it.

I love Joe but he really needs to step down. His health has really deteriorated in the last few months. He is really hurting our recruiting also. It's time for a new era. It's going to be a rough season I believe with a brutal road schedule.

As already stated, you don't ever pay for children under 3 at buffets - they get their own plate of food and beverage for free.

Hope this helps, Tiger :)

I am assuming this poster is talking about TS that are NOT buffets and I agree totally with this advice. I have had an under 3 child for every one of my adult family trips (until the upcoming one *sniff*) and I have always shared meals at regular TSs and QSs too. Plenty of food. Give it a try and see how it goes!
