After watching every DING! alert for months the time has come! Buffalo to Orlando is $40 today until 7:00 CENTRAL time! Valid for November 1 to January 9. Go to Southwest.com to Download DING! if it's not on your computer already.

I was just coming to post this.

What a great rate- I am so excited :cool1: :cool1:

We had the $99 rate and total for 5 was $1077(US) and now it is $486. I have $590 in travel funds for my May trip.

Oh my ... after I read Julie's post about her November long-weekend, I was searching the SWA website earlier today for early Dec, just for the heck of it. Nothing great, and now this ... problem is we really can't afford it! But it would be great fun for just me and DH to go for a weekend! After all, I do turn 40 in December! My AP's expire Jan 6th, and I checked for the 4 of us for the first week of Jan ... we can get home, but can't get a flight there for the same great price -- no surprise there. ;)

I need to stop even thinking about it ... for all of you who are able to do this, great! Now ... heading back to reality ...

Head out of reality Mary Liz!!

Couldn't get the great rate for our October rate but just saved $250 US on our December trip. :cheer2: :cheer2:

I so love Southwest and we will have a credit for a future trip so we'll just have to go back.

Who is this guy....?

Every time I click on "Book it" after linking to the SWA website from the DING application, is says I must book it from the Ding application! ARGGHHH!

"What happened? The offer you have requested is only available through the DING! application."

Thanks

OK ... so I decided to take cdnmickeylover's advice and head back OUT of reality ... DH and I are going down early December.

DH only has 2 more vacation days this year, so we're flying out on the 7:20AM flight out of Buffalo on Dec 1st, and returning on the 11:15AM flight on the 4th (Sunday morning), as DH has to go to work late that night. So we'll only get about 2 1/2 days at WDW, but I think it will still be a lot of fun. Haven't booked a room yet, but probably POP. And I might check availability of MVMCP or Candlelight Processional. Can't mention that to the kids though as they're already unimpressed that I'm going without them AGAIN.

I won't be there on my actual birthday, but close enough -- same month! Maybe turning 40 isn't so bad ... and of course I might have to do it all again when DH turns 40 ;)

And this means 4 trips for me on this AP :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Oh my ... I think I need some serious Disney-detox. I just don't see this obsession going away ... the more I go, the more I want to go. :confused3

Wow! That's a deal. I had taken my DING off after my great July flight on Southwest as we were firmly driving for our Dec. trip. There are 6 of us & we have a great off-site condo booked thru SkyAuction along with some camping at Ft. Wilderness plans.

Unfortunately I only saw your post at 1 hr before the expiry.

I had all 6 of us with flights we'd like for our December trip for $583.26USD total. UNBELIEVABLE! I've been concerned about how much gas will cost us to drive down this year. Phoned DH at work & he brought me back to some reality even with doubling our gas costs from last time we'd still have minivan rental costs. So for 50 minutes I tried to learn everything I could about renting a minivan in Florida cheaply. Not enough time with hungry children in the house.

So...boo hoo... someone remind please that it is OK, driving there is half the fun as my DH said... We do like our own minivan....We have fun driving through the U.S. especially if we're headed to WDW!

I hope lots of fellow DIS-ers got in on this. Really $37.12USD per way plus taxes, etc. Incredible. :earseek:

So thank you again for posting.

Crap crap crap crap crap crap!!!

I knew it! I've been futzing with my damn computer for the last three hours trying to get my wireless modem to connect, and I miss the DING I've been waiting for!

CRAAAAAAAAAAAP!!!

tabetha

it may appear again, they might be cycling florida flights since buf to tpa was there the other day

Onmedic

you have to put your information in at the top of the DING ....eg dates and how many, one way or return ...then you go to the buffalo to orlando line and say book it....the guy appears when you do not put "information" in ...used to get that guy too until i learned what i was doing wrong...

it then brings up the available flights for those dates.....total cost with this ding was 97.40$ USD versus regular fare of 115.40$ with internet rate of 49$ one way

Switched our Tampa $40 to this. Woo-Hoo!

Hi everybody Glad you all got your deal on Ding. I am new to this so when do the veterans think that the March break deals on Southwest will be posted

Maryliz - so glad you're going!!!! Having a December birthday sometimes sucks so this is compensation!!

This will be the third trip this year! -- You'd think we were rich but as Jim says we can only go because we will be staying at POP all three times -- which is just fine by me. AP's will do it for you. I booked December's trip using the new Best rate program on the disneyworld passholder's website with no problem and got POP for $59/night. Can't complain about that.

OnMedic - cruistoberfest is just a name a group of us have given to the cruise that we are taking in October, 2006 -- this is actually the 4th cruistoberfest although we've only been on three of them. We lucked into the second one and it's a great bunch of people to cruise with -- met them all on the disboards here.

Welcome :cool1: :cool1:

It will be a few more months before March is added to the schedule. Once added keep watching the Ding specials everyday. I would have thought this was going to be to early for a great rate in December but I was wrong.

We rebooked our flight at the cheaper ding rate and received a $504.76 cash credit back to our credit card!!!!

Sorry to those of you who missed out. We are going with another family and they missed out on the deal as well. There's still lots of time until Dec. so I'm sure something else will come up. I've been watching for a few weeks now and I can't believe all the great sales that are coming through. Sometimes the systemwide sales are even cheaper than the ding rates. So I'll cross my fingers for you!!

Can you explain to me how to sign up for ding, if they ask for a state code what do I put. I am from ON
And did you get an actual credit to your credit card, or a credit to use in one year with SW.
Would I book the cheaper flight and then phone SW to get the credit from my already purchased flights.
Thanks this is a bit confusing for me.

I think I used a New York state code to sign up for Ding. Whether you get a refund or credit depends on the type of airfare originally purchased. Our flights home in October went down $20US and I was able to get a refund to our credit card without a problem or I could have received a credit good for a year. I chose the refund. I did all of this online too which was great. On the front page there's a travel center icon which you click on and then pick change air reservation (I think that's what they call it). Anyway from there they walk you through the entire process.
