Crowded, noisy, expensive but you gotta go!! We try and go every time we visit. The preshow singing and jokes before you get into the area are really good but people use this time to make their way to the stairs which you ascend to get to your seat. You can have a photo taken in this area too and purchase wine or drinks (but remember the drink inside is free - beer and coke) You are given a cowboy hat with a coloured band around it which denotes which 'camp' you are in and where you sit and who you cheer for during the cowboy and indian races.
The seats are rows of wooden benches and you eat from a metal frying pan with metal spoons, forks and knives, drink from a metal beaker - just like the cowboys. It all adds to the atmosphere. The food isnt bad (chilli starter, chicken, sausage, potatoes, rib, corn bread, unlimited beer and coke, and apple pie/crumble pud).
The show is great. It can get a bit dusty in there and they advise asthmatics not to go (as I dont suffer perhaps someone else can advise on this). There is a section of the show where BB and Annie are showing their shooting skills; the cowboys and indians show off their riding skills, there are races between the different 'camps' and a storyline of a hijacked coach complete with robbers, riders, shooting and the cavalry. You have your own 'clown' who is dressed as either a cowboy or an indian and he urges you to bang your spoons on the table and boo the opposition. Add to this the wonderful sitting bull chief high on a mountain speaking in his native tongue followed by the buffalo coming out through the mist (real ones) and standing quietly until the indians come and herd them back behind the scenes, I would say its a show thats worth seeing. And at the end we all share in the gold saved from the robbers (chocolate coin of course!!)

Agree with all of the above but on the asmathics front - I don't suffer but I'm prone to mild hayfever and sometimes I get sore eyes from cats and dogs, (and sometimes I don't!). We've seen the show twice and both times by the end of it I'm wheezing and coughing a bit, but it doesn't put me off going again. So I'd say that if you are an 'official sufferer' don't go anywhere near the place!

Saw this show when our DDs were 8 and 6. We all loved it and would definitely see it again if we go back :flower:

We saw this for the very first time in July and I would highly recommend it. Widgets report is spot on, a show not to be missed.

Hi!
Do you think the show is suitable for my 2 and a half years old daugther?

I don't think she could be afraid but maybe she could be get bored (isn't the arena to big to keep her attention?)

Do you think I should pay a ticket to be sure to get a seat for her or is wasting money?

Thanks a lot for you advices!

I think she'd probably be ok as there's such a lot going on all the time and they do get the audience to participate - and then there's always the food to keep her amused! I know some regular posters on this forum have taken very young children and will no doubt be able to tell you more.

My son was only just turned two when we took him & he was fine. There's no chance of boredom setting in, lots of audience participation, banging cutlery, shouting, clapping etc. Am undecided about paying for her. I honestly can't remember whether we did or not. We definitely got a hat each which makes me think we did pay for him. Obviously if you didn't, you'd not get food for her which I don't really thibnk is a problem, it's not necessarily to a two year old's taste & she can always share yours. When are you going? If it's not a 'peak time' ie school hols or weekend, I'd think you'd get a seat for her anyway. Everyone just sits on big long fixed benches with a long trestle type table in front of them. Hopefully someone else with a youngster will give more advice.

We saw it last year and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, DH's favourite - although I suspect that had more to do with the free beer than the show, both DS's insisted that we do it again next year and we'll be taking my 3 year old niece with us.
I avoided it the first time because of the warnings for asthmatics, but my son, who granted is only mildly asthmatic was fine. :earsgirl:

Just had a thought if you're not sure how your 2 year old will react I believe there is a small "Buffalo Bill" parade early in the evening in the Village, you could always go and gauge her reaction, if she likes it then book whilst you're there. :earsgirl:

Our first and only visit was in summer '04 when youngest DD was under 2 1/2.
We all had a great time the kids especially enjoyed the buffalo and red indians.

Obviously if you didn't, you'd not get food for her...

As far as I know, I you go to a buffet like Plaza Gardens or Inventions, the children under 3 don't have to pay but they can (legally) eat.
So, I thought the only diference for paying or not at BBWWS is that your children have a seat granted.
Could someone confirm this?
Thanks a lot!

I'll reply myself:

I've called DLRP and they confirm if there is seats, children under 3 can have a free seat and, only in this case, a free meal.
If the show is full, children must seat on their parents and no free meal for them (sounds strange, isn't? :confused3 )

Hi Donna,

We've been twice and are definately going again in April......we all loved it, although eldest daughter found it a bit smelly [teenagers  ]. Everybody loved the food, and we were amazed by how well trained the animals were, there is also quite a bit of humour throughout the show!!!

Our middle child has mild asthma - she looked like she had done ten rounds with Mike Tyson after our first visit, her eyes were so swollen and red. We saw our local doctor before our second visit and he prescribed an antihistimine [spelling?] which she took on the day about an hour before the show.......and she had absolutely no trouble at all!!

First Class show - if you get the chance i would really recommend it for all ages! :goodvibes
