my son and dh both have mild astma brought on by rabbits mostly also hayfever they rarely use an inhaler do you think we could manage going to buffalo's or not risk it , i hear its very very dusty , is that wherever you sit its the same?

thanks for your help

suzanne

My son had asthma, quite mild though e.g. he needed an inhaler whenever he had a cold, certain times of the year, etc and has since outgrown it, but we took him to see BB's, sat in the front row and he was fine but his asthma mostly seemed to be set off by pollen.

We've taken DD(4) who has mild asthma.

They ask when you arrive if anyone in the party is a sufferer and you get placed nearer the back of the arena to lessen the risk.

We took DD's inhaler just in case but she didn't need it at all.

I would go . We really enjoyed the show :goodvibes

My DH and eldest DD both suffer from hay fever so we took antihistamines for them but they didn't need them. We arrived quite late so were seated right near the back and didn't experience any dust up there. We still had a great view, I think you get a good view from all the seats in there, and our food was extremely hot (I had read reviews that unless you were sat at the front your food would be cold :rotfl: ).

I would say go, sit near the back and have a great time!! :yay:

thanks again for all your help , will hopefully do this its one thing we really don't want to miss out on

thanks

suzanne (9 days to go )

DD has inhalers and asthma mainly set off by dog dander. We sat on the front row with no problems.
DP on the other-hand reacted to the horses so could have done with taking antihistamines :)

When we went I had a nasty cold, and I have to say that I really struggled...I've never had asthma or any allergies and we were sat right near the front, for some reason I found my chest really quite tight and was coughing lots. I'm sure it was to do with the cold as I have ridden horses and stuff many a time, but just so you know that you should be a little careful!

My first post but thought i'd help rather than ask for help.

My husband has asthma but we went anyway (in fact been twice now) and he had no problems even sitting in the front row both times.

One time i got picked to ride in the cariage, i don't have any allergies but i did find being close to the sawdust etc when on the showfloor made me sneeze.

So i'd suggest you should be ok with an asthmatic unless they specificaly have problems with horse hair or sawdust. But strongly recommend taking an inhaler and perhaps a preventative anti-histamine.

My DS has Asthma and is highly allergic to horse but he was fine sitting at the back for the show.
We made sure he couldn't inhale any hair from the animals and took inhalers just in case. It is touching horses my DS has real problems with not watching them so we were fairly sure it would be ok. Can you do a controlled try out with some horses before you go? It would be a good idea so that you know the risks as every person is different.

think we are going to try it , no don't think either of them are allergic to horses , goats and rabbits and hayfever yes so if we sit at back hopefully we'll be okay can you just get up and go to toilet though if you want to, is it dusty all the time or only at certain times

thanks everyone

suzanne

I'm allergic to horses and if I get too close I have a very bad reaction, we are skipping this show although my DD is horse crazy and would love to see it. I just can't take the chance as I am travelling alone with her and it would ruin the trip if something happenend.
