We have flown out of Buffalo numerous times but this is our first time flying with an infant. I have asked questions on the transportation board but the answers seem to vary from airport to airport and I just want to know what to expect when we fly out of Buffalo (with SW airlines) on Thursday.

First of all will we need the baby's passport and birth certificate or is just her passport ok?

Secondly, I am wondering what the procedure is when you get to the walk through scanner? I assume I take baby out of her car seat and walk through with her? What about the stroller and car seat how are those items screened?

What about formula? Are you allowed to bring water to mix with powder or does it have to be premade? And if it is premade are you permitted to bring a frozen gel pack to keep it cold?

Finally, I am wondering if they impose the 3oz limit on diaper rash creme (haven't been able to find a small tube of the brand I have been using)?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am starting to freak out a bit and want to be prepared. Thanks:goodvibes

You will just need her passport. You can fly out of BUF with just a BC though as well. Have both on hand just in case. You are always supposed to travel with both just in case as per the Canada Passport Website.

The stroller/car seat go thru the scanner & you walk thru with the baby.

I have found they are lenient about water for your baby to mix with formula. They have never given me trouble about it, but if they do I would just buy a bottle of water on the other side to use. They have also never said anything to me about diaper rash cream. How old is your baby? If you are concerned, call the BUF airport & inquire, but I have found when travelling with children they kind of let certain things slide when the child is young.
