So I'm curious what people have been paying lately for the BUF to MCO route on Southwest or Jetblue. I know in past years $69, $79 or $89 wasn't out of the question but the cheapest I've seen lately is $129 for pretty much as far as out as the schedule goes right now.

When we went this past May we ended up paying $119 but that was only a few months out as I think we booked in March because the trip was kind of last minute (last minute for us anyway). We are looking to go again in May 2012 and basically want to book as soon as the schedule is released but want to make sure it's a "good" price.

TIA:)

We booked in April for an October trip. Southwest down was $129, Jetblue back was the same. Four days after I booked, Jetblue dropped to $89!! So, we got a nice credit!

In August, we changed our trip to November after the free dining dates came out, and Southwest was $119 at that point, and JetBlue was $125. Two days later, Jetblue was $189, and within 2 weeks, it was $225!:scared1:

It really does seem to be a matter of good timing. When I called Jetblue about the $89, even the rep was surprised at that price, and it was only available for 2 days. If you fly a lot, you could always use the credits for another trip. We don't fly at all, but when we changed our dates, the credits came in handy!

We booked JetBlue at $99 each way back in the beginning of May for our end of October trip. The next week the fares dropped to $89 each way so I got a credit. They haven't been lower than that since and I've checked every day. Our flight down has mostly been $129 and the flight back $224. Good luck getting a good price!

I really think it depends on what time of year you go. Last year I booked tickets for my son on SW for about $200 rt. the second week of December. I know other times of the year the prices have been quite a bit more expensive.

Thanks all. I'm happy with about $200/RT per person which I think is doable for May. I guess I will start watching as soon as they come out and if I see $89 or $99 per leg will book.

We've always done southwest but I think I may try jetblue this time. Seats are assigned on jet blue, right? But only 1 free checked bag? I'm ok with 1 less bag if we get seats assigned ahead of time. I will have to see what flight times are better too.

Yes, seats are assigned on Jetblue (and you can pick them when you book). Only 1 free checked bag. We've always flown Southwest but the fares and times were that much better on Jetblue for our upcoming trip that we decided to go with them.

We're flying out of buf for our april/may 2012 trip. I bought our outbound flights a day or two after jetblue released their fares, we got them at $129. Jetblue is really good about crediting you if the price drops. I just keep watching the fares, if they drop I can use the credit towards our flight back. We love jetblue, love the assigned seats, free bag, tv in the seats and to us the seats are a little roomier for my tall hubby.

We have WDW booked for March 10 and I'm thinking we might have to cancel. The prices are crazy, 250 & up for each leg. It seems that Buf prices are higher then other cities too. I checked PIT to MCO and I can get 136. Not sure if it is because SW has many Canadians flying out of BUF, that may be driving the price up. Last Dec we flew on the 10th & our fare was 99 for each leg. In past years, I've gotten 39, 59, 79 - I think those days are gone. I have been checking Jet Blue daily and will book there if the price is right. I have never flown them, but I have been reading good things about them, so I won't hesitate to make the switch from SW.

We are going to WDW March 30-April 8th, 2012. We usually fly SW but I was able to get better flight times for Jetblue for 129.each way. Considering this is Spring break I thought this was a reasonable fare.

BUF prices are higher than most east coast airports now. I do assume it is because we are a border town and our Canadian neighbors get better prices here in U S A then at home. It is a supply and demand pricing structure.
The airport lot has so many Canadian plates in it. Our malls are packed too. That is good for our economy so thanks for the business neighbors!
I do miss those $69 flights!
