Has anyone flown the 7:20 am flight from Buffalo, NY to MCO? This seems like an ideal flight, as it is non-stop and gets you in at around 10am. There will just be us two adults, so the strange seating on SWA is not an issue. Any thoughts or comments greatly appreciated! ::MinnieMo

Hi!

We fly out of Buffalo on SW all the time and love the early flight. If you can print out your boarding passes at midnight the night before, you'll be guaranteed A section. People don't usually start lining up until about 45 minutes before the flight (they board 20 minutes before) so you can show up at the airport about an hour before (maybe an hour & 15 minutes before), check your luggage with the skycap, meander through security then right to your gate.

Good luck! We love that flight!

Thank you very much! I've actually never flown out of Buffalo before. My fiance is in Fredonia now and that seemed like the easiest and cheapest way to go.

How would you rate the return flights? Any suggestions? Thanks again!

I take this flight all the time, gets ya there so early with no stops, can't beat it. :cheer2:

You might be able to get an "A" card by singing the Mickey Mouse Club song to everyone over the PA system. I've seen them do that twice.

The non-stop return flight is pretty good too because it leaves sort of late and gets you in early enough to feel like a normal night (although still depressing ;) ).

I've taken that one before and even with C passes on a full plane still got 3 seats across the aisle from one another (granted it was in the way back of the plane, but with a N/S, you don't have to worry about making a connection and it takes awhile for your luggage to get there at MCO).

The way back was nice. Earlier than I wanted to leave, but hey, I was home before 8 PM. I am taking the 6:45 with the 1 stop/no layover in October so I can let you know how that one is.

The flight I really love is the 7:10 PM n/s. This way I can work a full day and still be in my room before midnight. You can't do that on any other airline out of BUF.

I will keep those flights in mind...Thanks for all your suggestions. Singing the MMC theme song doesn't sound bad (unless you are my very annoyed DBF)

I've never printed my passes out at home and have always been an A or B on that flight. We've taken it 3 times in the last 2 years. We always book the non-stop one back too. Anyhow, we have yet to be on a plane that is more than 70% full. So, our boarding passes never really mattered as there were always empty rows and seats. We don't travel at peak times like the holidays though either.

If you are going to park while at the airport use the Sunpark lot across the street. They always have great discount coupons on their website. They are cheaper than the airport and they'll help you load and unload your luggage. They also drop you right off at the curbside check-in stand.

How much time would you budget for the luggage to get there? We will be booking a town car as soon as our flights are set. Does anyone else have experience with this? Last year, we also booked a town car and the wait for bags was not long at all, but I am concerned about having to hang out at the airport.

Well you usually would have time to get off the plane, go to the bathroom, wait for the monorail and make it down to the luggage carousel before your bags get there. Maybe its 10-15 minutes from the plane gettting to the gate that your luggage will get to the carousel. But you will eat up most of that time actually getting to the baggage claim so its really not that long at all.

Then again I usually fly at night so there aren't too many people working at midnight - 1 AM when I normally arrive, which could explain why it takes a little while. Its in no way like LAX that has announcements that it will be at least 30 minutes before your luggage will arrive.

OH! Ok, I must have misinterpreted your post. I thought you were indicating that there is a longer than normal wait with SWA flights, or at least that one in particular. I would 10-15 minutes is about what we're used to waiting, so no big deal. LOL - I have, unfortunately, experienced the unique baggage handling at LAX...so not pretty on the red eye! :sunny:
