Buena Vista Street is going to rock!

I saw the Buena Vista Street presentation today at the D23 Expo. For those of you who miss the CALIFORNIA letters and are questioning the plan to change the entrance to Buena Vista street I can assure you that everyone will forget the old entrance in about...oh two seconds. Maybe one.

The theming and rich storytelling that embrace you on Main Street will be much the same at DCA starting next June. Gone will be the days of entering DCA to an emotionless experience.

This is absolutely going to rock your socks!

The designs are done and materials are purchased. They are going to close down the entrance in a couple weeks. They plan to have it open in June 2012. BTW, they did not talk dates at the session today. But I believe Disney somewhere else has said June.

Did they happen to mention the date of the DCA entrance re-routing? I'm gonna be there Sept 20, do you think it's probably gonna already be under major construction by then?
I kinda hope not, but at the same time it would be cool to be able to say I was there during such a major overhaul, and experiencing the re-routed entrance would be kinda fun to me.

They just said "September". But I suspect it will be the day after Labor Day (Sept 6) or maybe even earlier.

Nice! and you were lucky to get in (the whole convention center was sold out Sat...crazy). I can't wait for this change. I had originally planned on attending this presentation, but when I saw the 25 years of Pixar panel I coudn't miss that...and glad I didn't! By far the best presentation I've ever seen, right up there with the first Expo Imagineer panel. I hope someone will post pictures from the Buena St. Presentation.

I can't wait for Buena Vista Street! After seeing the concept art photos and videos that came out of D23 I think it's going to be a complete 180 for DCA and a memorable entrance such as Main Street USA.
