Has anyone ever stayed here? Just wondering if it would be worth us canceling our reservations at the Caribe Royale and stay here since it's closer to DTD. Any comments would be helpful

We stayed there a few years ago and liked it. It's right across from DTD and their bus service is pretty good.

Stayed for a short trip on business. Very nice resort, can walk to downtown Disney as well as Saratoga Springs Resort (DVC). Almost feels like a Disney owned resort being so close to DD and SSR.

Does anyone know if you have to pay to park at this resort? Also, I'm looking at the Island suite room or the Disney view guestroom as an option. Do you know anything in particular about these rooms? Thanks

I know my DH self parked...I think there was a fee.

When we registered, we were asked what view we wanted (had a regular room) and we asked for the Disney view (no extra charge). Our room was located were high enough to see the fireworks at MK (also could see the Contemporary) and Epcot Illuminations.

I was all ready to book this hotel using the "Kids Rule pkg" but the ad is deceiving. When calling and inquiring about the pkg, the guy gave me a quote of $40 more(for the room that was advertised in the pkg), a $14 resort fee, taxes, blah blah blah etc. Just too much of a difference from the $99 we have booked at the Caribe Royale. When all is said and done, the BV Palace would cost us approx. $250. It did come with a breakfast buffet for all of us and Disney Quest tickets but it would be cheaper to buy these separately. It's ashame, my husband and one son got all excited to do this. We could always just book a room and not a pkg but now my family is excited to do DQ. Oh choices, choices... :scratchin

I did cancel my reservation at Caribe Royale and booked a Disney view room at the BV Palace. I could use AAA which saved me $11. My husband and sons wanted the convenience of being able to walk back and forth to DTD without driving. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of mention on this resort but what I've heard has been all positive. Hoping everything will be o.k.

Out of curiousity, what rate did you end up with? Rates on this property vary widely depending on when you are going.

We got the Disney view room for a AAA rate of $108. Of course till they tack on the resort fee, resort fee tax, occupancy tax...the grand total was $138.32. Still o.k. with this. The resort fee kind of annoys me but we expected this and we wanted the convenience of walking across the street to DTD.

We had a great stay there last April.

The Bed are wonderful! We also had a theme park view and we could watch Illuminations and MK fireworks from our balcony.

I don't remember (or think) there was a charge for parking. We had two cars (DH was doing business at the time) so that's what makes me think we didn't pay anything for self park. The lots aren't too far away, and we used the doors at the Convention Centre entrance to get back in the hotel. It was easy. The pool area was very nice too.

:thumbsup2
