Has anyone ever stayed here? I'm considerring it for an April trip as we can't afford to stay on property but would like to know what I'm getting into before I book.

We're looking at the Palace for our trip next year. It gets a good write up on Tripadvisor which is good but I too would be keen to hear what folks thought.:thumbsup2

I think the only people who read this section are the people looking for a place and not the people who have already stayed there. I've got a thread on the review section that hasn't had one response. Hopefully someone will see this soon as I need to book today.

I did read the reviews on Expedia and they were good with the exception of two that were really bad. Most though gave it 4 or 5.

We have stayed there twice and thought it very good. The rooms have been refurbished since we last stayed so cannot comment on them but the old ones were very good so assume the new ones will be better.

Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again but we are now DVC members.

Thanks young pooh. The remodel looks to be quite extensive and they have a great deal right now. $50 hotel credit for every two nights and a coupon for a free future night stay at check out. Since we are going to be on two reservations (long story) we'll get two free night coupons. If we like the resort that will be great.

I have not stayed there in a few years, but would not hesitate to go back. Good location, nice rooms.

Like most of the DTD hotels it was built quite a while ago which means the bathrooms are kind of "old style" but....

Great Place to Stay!

Thanks everyone. My husband is definitely staying there for the first half of the trip. If it is OK we'll join him for the second half. ( I can't go up until later and he has to go up for business.) If he doesn't like it we'll find someplace else.

My husband and I stayed there last year for a few nights and we were really happy with it. The rooms are very updated and modern. They also have a great breakfast buffet and are right across the street from downtown Disney!

Well, my husband leaves this saturday. I'm praying everything is OK as he doesn't do well with problems. He always leave the hotel stuff to me. I've got his room booked and then a suite booked for when we arrive on tuesday. I'm hoping there's a little pixie dust sprinkling around him when he checks in or I'm going to be looking for a different place for Tuesday.

I love the BVP, it is a very nice and modern hotel. The beds are sooo comfy, can you tell?

Do you have any other photos? I've only seen the ones on the hotel web site and I'm not sure how reliable they are. I'd love to see some actual rooms. Although, the one you posted looks pretty much like theirs. Thanks.

We're back. The hotel was very nice and the staff was incredible BUt this is not a handicapped friendly resort. There were so many problems when we checked in and went to the room that they ended up moving us to the tower but couldn't give us a handicapped room, the halls aren't really big enough for a person and a wheelchair, thresholds are to high and have to be backed over (which is impossible in areas of hallway). It was just a nightmare. I wouldstay here again but definitely not with my DM and her wheelchair. By the way, the beds are incredible. I took the model of the mattress and might get one for myself.

I stayed there for one night 2 years ago. The resort is beautiful..I just don't like that they charge a resort fee(I think $15.00) a day.

The deal we got included a $50 resort credit to be used in a restaurant or spa while you were there so I guess that made up for the resort fee. At least they don't charge for parking -- yet. My husband said people at the conference he was attending at the Hilton were complaining because they were being charged a nightly parking fee on top of the resort fee. I think he said it was something like 15 a night. That's just going too far -- but I've heard that Disney may start charging for parking at all their resorts soon. Just one more reason to drive us away. Although, when my mom is with us staying on property is really necessary. It's just to hard staying at these resorts that have been remodeled but really need to be renovated to be handicapped accessible.
