Has anyone stayed in Buena Park and driver over to Disneyland? Wondering how is the drive there. I just booked flights for December on a whim and an ad for that area popped up. I haven't been there since I was a kid but I vividly remember Knotts.

It's a relatively short drive about 10-15 mins depending on whether you take the freeway or drive thru town.

I've stayed in Buena Park several times and like @1Disneylandfan said, it's a really easy drive. Especially on weekends. (Plus a lot more hotels in Buena Park have free parking and it doesn't feel as hectic as being in the DLR area.) I stay close to the parks when I can, but if the prices are too high in the Anaheim resort area and I can find something in Buena Park, that's my next choice.

Around NYE 2019 we stayed at the Fairfield Inn on Orangethorpe. Getting to Disneyland was easy - typically less than 10 minutes. My wife slept in one morning and joined us later taking the Metro 460 bus. We also walked to Target or BK some days and there’s an interesting mall (The Source) on Orangethorpe.

Also, Buena Park has three Anaheim Regional Transportation stops although they discontinued all fixed route service to Buena Park in favor of on demand service. I’ve personally been on rides alone or just two of us. The stops in Buena Park are in front of the Knott’s Berry Farm employment center, Beach St at El Capitan (across the street from Medieval Times), and in front of the Fairfield Inn. That might be useful if someone sleeps in. Buses might not always be available though during some times. I’m trying to do it now and can’t find any available service. I can always request a ride (between two points in their service area) even from hundreds of miles away.

Make sure you add in the cost of parking when determining where to stay. It is currently $30/car/day to park in a Disney owned lot.

I've been playing around with the app for ART and I can't seem to get anything near the stop on Beach, so that looks like it's been discontinued. But in front of the Knott's Berry Farm employment center and the Fairfield Inn on Orangethorpe are still available stops.

Doubletree Buena Park (previously Holiday Inn) has free scheduled shuttle service to Disney, Knotts and anywhere within a certain radius, maybe 5 miles??? Could be useful for someone!

The Knotts hotel also has a free shuttle to Disney and, of course, Knotts is right there.
