Budget vs. Alamo

OK, I am going for a short solo trip Mar 2 - Mar 5. Arriving at 10 PM, departing at 7 PM.

Alamo and Budget are the least expensive (about $60 before taxes economy car) - both in airport. Which do you recommend - i have never rented from either at MCO.

budget is on site at the airport. And if you sign up for fast break you can by-pass the regular line and go straight to the garage to pick up your car. If you sign up for fastbreak you spouse can also drive for free. I like budget but i have never tried alamo. So as to which is better i don't know but i have used budget about 4 times. And I will use them again.

i used budget on our last trip with zero problems. this time we are using alamo. i'll post the results of that when we get back. good luck and have fun!

I would use Budget only because their line tends to be shorter than Alamo's. But go with Alamo if you'd rather choose your own car rather than have one assigned to you. Overall, we've had good luck with both. Sometimes Alamo tries to push their insurance, but just be firm.

I haven't used Budget but did use Alamo on out last trip. We were in a line of about 5 people but it moved very slowely. When we finally got up to the counter we discovered why. They kept trying to get us to buy all their extra insurance etc. Then they tried to say we needed to pay more for a second driver. I told them it was free when we made the reservation -they looked it up again and agreed. I decided that it would be worth the extra to go back to National. Interesting that they are owned by the same company but we have never had a problem with National.

I've used both companies, and would definitely choose Budget over Alamo. In fact, I'm renting from Budget for my two upcoming trips.

Thanks everyone, i decided to go with budget and joined fast break as well.

I usually would use National but their rates are much higher forthis short trip.
