Hello!

I just wondered what experiences people have had with Budget at MCO? We used National last time and they were very easy but Budget currently has them beat by $200+ for an 8 night mini-van rental.

Thanks!

We used Budget during Christmas week. Though the price was steep because of the holiday (better than anyone else though), the service and convenience were very good. Join Fastbreak for free on their website and enter all your credit card info. Then when you go to pick up your car, you don't have to wait in line at the counter. You go directly to the garage (very close to baggage claim) and to the kiosk. It was very quick, even though it was a few days before Christmas. Return was easy also.

Just used Budget for a min-van on 2/23 when we went on a cruise from Port Canaveral. When we go to Disney, I usually use National, but the Budget drop off was walking distance from the Radisson at the Port in Canaveral.
Budget was great - I used express check in and didn't have to go the counter. The only difference I saw was, Budget picks your car out for you, National you pick from row of cars. No big deal.

Budget at MCO is really convenient. I've had a great experience with them every time. I usually have the kids wait at baggage claim while I walk over the garage and get the car. I always have the car rented before the bags arrive. Love it.

I'm glad to hear all of the great feedback too! We will also be there for :santa: and while budget seems high, it's still the cheapest of anyone else I've tried.

Are there any Budget codes out there??

Now.....if I could just find a deal on airfare!!! :lmao:

This is our situation EXACTLY. 8 nights, former (happy) National Emerald Aisle family, saving $200 by going with Budget. Very nervous about the prospect of waiting in lines, but my time is not worth THAT much!

Just an update for eveyone who was getting good budget rental rates. I just booked Dollar for $100 less then Budget. Guess it pays to shop around. Dollar is $242 total for 8 nights in a minivan. The code I used was OCVB.

Hopefully people liked Dollar as much as Budget!

I wouldn't mind Dollar, but they aren't located at the airport. I hate having to figure in extra time for the load/unload/shuttle to the rental counter. But $100 less is a good deal.

:)

Hi~
I'm new to trying to get quotes for a minivan rental. Please excuse my ignorance, but...I'm trying to find my quote online and I don't understand how I use a code.
I've seen other codes around from other companies besides Dollar but can't seem to figure out how to use those either.

Okay, for example on Dollar's site: where do I input a code? I've looked all over. I did see a "corporate #" and put the code in there but that doesn't work.
Do I need to call each company directly?

thanks!

For Dollar, click the SPECIALS tab at the top of the page. It will reload and a window will appear that says "promo code".

My guru for rental car discounts is www.mousesavers.com. She has discounts for all of the major companies at MCO (and nearby) plus instructions for how to enter them, and how to stack them (use more than one on a given rental.).

Hope this helps!

From what I've been told, Dollar *is* on site at MCO. We're using them in April so I hope I'm right ;)

According to Mousesavers--

At Orlando International Airport (MCO) the in-terminal rental car agencies are Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, National and L&M. All others are off-site at the airport, so you will have to take a shuttle. In addition, there are Alamo/National locations on-site at Walt Disney World, which is very convenient should you wish to keep your car for only part of the trip. There are also rental car locations at several of the hotels in the Downtown Disney area.

I signed up for their Dollar Express program, which will hopefully save some waiting time.

as stated in another thread, Budget (using SW ID & $35 coupon) beat my best rate thus far from Dollar for compact & intermediate class.

Evidently, coupons aren't applied until you checkin? Still trying to coordinate that w/their quick rental programs.:rolleyes1

IMO, it's confusing navigating their site; still trying to figure out Rapid Res/Fastbreak (as in the details as to upfront charges/prepaid); need to call 800 # I suppose.

Thanks to you guys, I had an ephiphany!!! I was renting through Budget at the Doubletree and then driving to Port Canaveral before our cruise. But, after reading this thread, I started thinking...why go to the hassle of getting to DTD from BW on our checkout day, then drive back to BW, pack our stuff in the car and then drive back towards MCO in order to get to Port Canaveral. So....I changed my pick up to MCO, will take DME back to the airport, then go get the car. And, it's about $10 cheaper this way.
