A friend is visiting and would like ideas of what to see and do without hefty admission tickets!

Do you mean Coronado Springs?
Can't help out with CSR tips but....
I live in Colorado and can help out with Colorado Springs ideas;)

Garden of the Gods Park (and for store browsing, Garden of the Gods trading post and Garden of the Gods Visitor Center); Air Force Academy; Coin/Money Museum downtown is free; Pioneer Museum; Manitou Springs for a little touristy shops and walking plus there's several springs that you can taste around town, map is at the visitor center, just bring a water bottle; I hope that's enough to start with.

Is there still that 1800s pizza place? Can't think of the name...Is there a fee for the US Olympic training center?

Definitely the Garden of the Gods area. It's gorgeous, and doesn't cost a penny. I've passed a Ghost Town museum and there's a Rodeo museum, that I can't imagine would cost very much. We went to the Ghost place once, but it wasn't fully operating (everything was closed) and I don't remember the price being bad.

I did mean COLORADO SPRINGS, so any suggestions are appreciated! Is there enough there to do for a week? Everything seems to have a high ticket price when you are sightseeing nowadays!

We took a tour of the Olympic facility, no cost. Garden of the Gods is really cool, too. If you're a fan of the movie Cars, drive through Manitou Springs. It has so many similarities to Radiator Springs!

Window shopping in Old Colorado City, Fargos Pizza (the 1800s place mentioned above), if they are here after the middle of May and are adventerous-drive up Pikes Peak-there is a charge per car but it is soooooooo worth it. Drive an hour up to Florrisant and visit Dinasour National Monument. Visit the Molly Kathleen Mine in Victor.

The Zoo there is amazing!!!! Not sure of the admission price, but a very unique, nice zoo!!!

Visit the World Figure Skating Museum and Hall of Fame. My DD is a figure skater and we visit there when she competes in Colorado Springs. It's free for us to get in because we belong to the US Figure Skating Association, but admission prices are pretty inexpensive. $5 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6-12. Kids under 6 are free.

If your friends visit the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, they can show their receipts to access a road that takes them up to the Will Rodgers Shrine of the Sun. Spectacular views at over 8000 feet above sea level. This is the view that inspired the words to the song, "America The Beautiful."

They could also stop in the Broadmoor Hotel which near both things I listed above. It's an elegant hotel to walk through and view the grounds. I'd love to spend a night there sometime, but that's not going to happen unless I win a lottery.

My kids enjoyed Focus on the Family. They did a "broadcast" with their cousins and still like listening to it. They have a big slide and soda shop, as well.

No its not-America the Beautiful was inspired by the view from the top of Pikes Peak on a clear day. Will Rodgers Shrine is still very very worth a visit tho
