Budget suggestions for December '02

I've been reading the boards for a couple of years now, and by golly, I'm finally becoming one of you! Luv the boards, but they sure are addicting.

Anyway, my DH and two DDS are planning a trip to Disney in December, and we usually book fairly early. However, with the economy and all the complaints that I'm sure Disney has received regarding EE and cut back hours, I'm wondering if we should wait to book to see if there might be some good discounts.

We want to stay at the ASMo, and I know they are filled pretty far in advance. When should we book, and if we book now, can we still get some discounts if they offer them later in the year when their losses hit them?

Any suggestions?

They told me that as long as the room is available for the discount, I could use a code and request a lower rate for the room I already booked.
So, the trick is to call Immediately after hearing about the codes!

As you know, All Star Movies is very popular. If you really want to stay there, I'd recommend you book now for the best rate you can get. As Humpbacks1962 said, you can always cancel or change it later if something better comes up. That way you'll know you have a place at the hotel you want. If you keep an eye on these boards and MouseSavers, you will be among the first to know about any discounts that come up. Good luck!

Definitely book ASAP. We booked our March trip at CBR in August. Our rack rate was $200/night. When the DC rates came out, we got it for $170. This week I was able to get $121/night with the Amex discount.

My suggestion would be to consider renting DVC points, at least for sun-thurs, as december is when they are lowest, check out the calculator on the wdwinfo.com site and if you have any ?'s visit the dvc board. Good luck
