I was not sure where to post this but since i was looking for a frugal way ...
i thought i could post here... if staying onsite at WDW .. what is the best way to get to harry potter park for the day ??
i can't imagine that there would be shuttles from WDW ?? what is the cheapest way for 5 people in their late 20's to get there ??
thanks for all suggestions ...

You will need to get to Islands of Adventure - HP is a land inside that park.

I know someone on here will be able to confirm but I am pretty sure there is a park ticket you can buy which includes transportation. I believe it is the same price as a regular day ticket. It has been mentioned on the podcast before.

I didn't know about that ticket, but we have found the cheapest/most convenient way to get there is to hire a private car. The cost is close to a taxi but maybe a little less. We were able to give them a ballpark time of when to pick us up after too and then just call them when we were close to ready. It worked well.

You'll love the Harry Potter part of IOA, but don't forget to explore the rest too! The HP part is just a small section--3 rides. You have to try the Butterbeer! IOA is my favorite single theme park--even though I'm am a HUGE Disney fan!

thanks !!

does anyone know of this ticket which includes transportation .. would love to see what options are available to get there..............

Dreams Unlimited has offered a ticket that includes transportation from Disney - the banner was running at the top of the Universal Forum - not sure if it is still there.

If not, you can check with Mears, hire a taxi, or rent a car for the day (from near the Swan and Dolphin, I think, but there might also be another place at Disney). You don't have to go back to the airport to rent a car.

I love Disney, but the WWOHP is worth a side trip all by itself, and the other rides at Islands of Adventure will make for a great day!

I would also suggest using the Lynx bus- it's the public transportation for the Orlando area - it's very affordable and you can board at several locations around Disney property.

My DS will be going from Pop Century to IOA in January and I'm having him take Mears. They will pick you up right at your hotel(every hour in the AM) and will bring you back to your hotel for $18 R/T. You need to give them 24 hours notice for the pickup and 2 hours notice to be picked up at IOA for the return trip. Seems like a pretty good deal to me when it's only 2 people.

Lynx IS the cheapest but it will take them up to two hours to get to IoA... probably not the best use of the money spent on park tickets if they're just going for the day IMO.

Mears starts running early in the morning if you want to get there for park opening and will pick you up at your resort. It's under $20 per person RT.
