Budget Rent A Car Question

I have only rented from Alamo in the past so I'm unfamiliar with Budget's policies/procedures. With Alamo I could resereve a car without putting any money down and then cancel and re-book if the price went down. It seems that on the Budget website you have to pay at the time you make your reservation. Am I missing something? Any info you can offer would be appreciated.

I haven't had to pay before using the car with Budget, but their policy may have changed.

If you are planning to use Budget at MCO be very careful. There is at least one agent - Bob L. #71843 - that will lie to you about the OPTIONAL insurance. He will tell you that it is mandatory and will go as far to falisify your contract. Read your contract very carefully prior to departing the counter and requst a supervisor if necessary.

Thank you for the info and the heads-up. I did find that there is an option to pay at the counter, so my cars are now reserved without my having to pay ahead.

I'll keep an eye out for Bob L. I really hate dealing with rental car companies, but for our purposes, renting a car is the most cost effective option. Thanks again!

I would sign up for their Fastbreak. You can skip the counter and go directly to their small booth in the parking garage. There was no line when I used it in June, no sales pitch and I had the car in a matter of a few minutes.
